Off the Wall Marketing Ideas's

By
Real Estate Agent with North Pointe Realty

I was thinking of ways that I could market my self and my listings. I thought this might make

a good post. Maybe we could get a running list of everyone's off the wall ways of marketing.

I have a couple.

1. Yard sales: Yard sales are good, people are relaxed and when they see my name tag

or my truck signage they ask questions. This usually starts several conversation and

has gotten me several listings and buyers. I also leave a few cards with the person

having the yard sale and ask them to hand them out if someone mentions they are

in town looking at real estate.

2. This one happened just by accident. I was shopping with my husband at a local grocery

store the kind where you bag your own stuff. My cart was loaded so I stood off to the

side and waited for him, as it turned out I was standing next to the rack where the local

real estat book rack was. Several people stopped and picked up books, so I thought

I should say something. Well I did and that day I got two buyers. So now when I shop

I stand there for a few minutes and will almost always at least have a conversation or

    pick up a lead.

Seem the out of the  box stuff is fun and can work.

If you have an idea that you would like to add please do.

I have in the past spent a few minutes standing there as well. I have also tucked my card into the front cover. Maybe one day I will hear from them.

Those are great ideas. What is your opening line when you are standing next to the mags?

Great ideas, I recently had a yard sale and I too gave out cards to people that seemed interested in my community. I have to try the supermarket book rack!

Sharon...Some will call, I have found that contacts I have made that I thought were nothing turn

into business in some way or another.

Patrick.... My opening line is not always the same. Sometimes I just say oh are you looking

to buy in the area. There are some great homes,  if you like I can help you when

you are ready.  I keep it light and try not to pressure them.

Vicki....I was surprised when it happened to me.

Rich..... I have found my name tag to be my best marketing tool.

I have been tempted many times to say something to people when they pick up those books in restaurants, etc. but most of the time, it seemed inappropriate.  I guess I should just wear my name tag more often!  :)

I've started wearing my name tag as well. I've thought about saying something to shoppers when I preview model homes but haven't yet. Standing near the supermarket racks sounds like a good idea.
