Recently I have stepped into a short sale to get it to closing..as a matter of fact finally we were able to place the property in pending status..because we received our approval letter.  HOORAY!

Now keep in mind the seller has NO money..otherwise they would probably not be in the position they are in today! No they were not frivolous...nor made a bad investment...it's health issues..plain and simple even with insurance...the cost of medications..need I really say more?

One of the requests the buyer had was pretty simple...get the pool cleaned up, right? Well think again.

My first day checking out the pool I could not understand why the pool had turned so green...they've had someone keeping an eye on the property...lawn gets cut...the condition of the house is great..but that darn pool was greener than my name.

I thought hey with my brother's experience in the pool cleaning business..and some memories of my own pool...

I should be able to get this pool cleaned up rather quickly if only I had the guts to stick my hand in the murky water.

At the bottom of the pool is the creepy crawler.  So I thought just do it and do it fast..otherwise the lochness monster might come out..yes it was pretty bad..that tropical storm didn't help the condition..nor did the pieces of the screen that fell in the pool.

Once I grabbed the creepy crawler hose...I watched as a little snake came at me..I screamed so loud and dropped that hose..now I had to get that little guy out of the pool.  So I grabbed the skimmer...and tried but every time I got close to it...I got the creeps..but finally with enough courage..I grabbed the little guy and now he is in the lake where he belongs.

So once again I grabbed the creepy crawler...and fished it out of the pool...I disconnected..and sure enough there was a huge piece of screen trapped which prevented it from working properly.  As I put the thing back together....I felt relieved..the crawler wasn't broken it just could not do the job.

I back washed then shocked the pool..I proceeded to drop the creepy crawler back into the pool BUT things didn't go my way and the creepy crawler head fell into the pool and I had the hose in my hand.

At that point I had 3 options...stick my hand in...or jump in the pool or just forget about it and wait until Monday morning and call a pool service...but the creepy crawler fell..where is it?  I can't find it.  Now what?  I thought about my options..and decided clean the pool in hopes to find the creepy crawler..

I have to say the pool looked worse once I started cleaning and was ready just to give up..but still I was on a mission..

I wanted the creepy crawler head.

After a couple of hours I gave up...went home and told the computer scientist what had happened..he told me don't worry tomorrow we will go over and get that thing..even if Albert has to come to help us.

Sunday morning..I get up and head to the pool supply store and armed with shock...chlorine tables and chlorine...I went back to the house determined to get the creepy crawler out..even if today I have to get into the pool.

When I arrived..the pool was a lighter shade of green..what the heck..I'll just clean once again in hopes of feeling it at the bottom..maybe I'll find it ..I could now see the steps and the side of the pool...It's working but I just need the creepy crawler to finish the job.

A couple of hours later...frustration and sunburn set in...I asked my brother and the computer scientist to come and help me get this thing out of the pool.  Once they arrived...they fished and helped me with some creepy spiders...and finally my brother...pushed it in the shallow end.  We tried to get it close to the steps..and with no avail..

So close but yet so far...but it wasn't going to get the better of me. I'm ticked but I just don't quit!

I could smell the chemicals..that I put in the pool the day before..we all looked at each other...Al had to go to work..so I knew he wasn't going to get in the pool...

The computer scientist opted for long pants..he isn't jumping in the pool...so with a little encouragement...and a some huge guts...

I climbed the first step...then the second..I tried to twist and turn and get that thing without having to immerse myself in that water...can't reach it..can't see it...one more step.. darn I still can't reach it....as touched the bottom of the pool..I now was in 3 feet of water...creeped out...with the full blown willies...I grabbed the thing and ran out of the pool.

Once I got the thing reconnected...the guys made sure it was connected tight.  As we dropped the crawler in the water..I felt accomplished..but I hope to never have to do that again.

As we left the property..I was thinking to myself..you really enjoy doing short sales...well most of it...those creepy crawlers...I can live without.

Yesterday I went back to the property..yet another lighter shade of green..I can't understand what is so wrong with this pool..until I pulled out the creepy crawler again...loaded with debris...palm leaves..again it could not do the job completely...so this time when I dropped the thing in I started at the shallow end.

Today is inspections...I just hope...the creepy crawler is crawling and I don't mean the live sort!

I called the selling agent and we had a good laugh..John Mark Bundy..Thank You...you are a real pro!

When a seller is counting on a professional to get the job done..am I crazy to do what I did?  I don't think so..and as much as I hate to admit it...I would probably do it again.

Hi Petra-now that it is all said and done and after telling the story a few times...its extremely funny!  Even when it was going on I found it very funny...if only people could see the expression on my face...when the crawler fell!

Midori, spunk, bravery and a wonderful job done. You do realize that Florida has all of the poisonous snakes found in North America, don't you? Also alligators and crocodiles? Of course, the crocs, won't come into the pool. LOL

All I can say is "Bravo"!  With all the chemicals you put in there I can't imagine anything actually living in the pool, but it still looks pretty gross!  Good for you!

Most people don't realize how hard we work ... and sometimes don't even get a commission.
