I just had to throw this post out there!

Look at these Gas Prices! What happened? Am I missing something here? Can someone explain to me what this is all about.

I am searching for answers and comments from members that can clue me in on this problem we are having in America!

Please don't be angry with my post, I never set these prices!

My sister sent this pic to me and I couldn't believe the price change when I saw it. This price change is after 8 years and that is not a very long time.

 Thank you for your Comments!

Yeah it doesnt really seem to make any sense. Its scary how much gas is. I drive a tiny car that gets good mileage and yet I pay sometimes $50 a week for gas. I live in a small town where its only a 10 minute drive in any direction to get to the other side of town! Yet my monthly bill is $200? I mean thats like my phone bill and my utility bill combined!

I'm not an expert but the way I understand it is that the way gas works is... that oil is bought as futures. When things are volatile in the world the buyers of the worlds oil buy more and more.. the law of supply and demand work their magic and prices go up. Because of the war, problems in many countries in the world, financial worries, the futures are being sold at record prices then they were 8 years ago. That could be the reason for the price increases.

I don't like the price of gas as much as the next guy but to blame the solely the President is ridiculous. Many things are at work here driving the prices up.

Are you trying to say that it's because of the presidential administration?  Were you also the one back in 2001 saying that the economic downturn was because of President Bush?  If you want to talk about economic issues, you need to look at the previous term and presidential administration.  Economic policy is not a 90 day turnaround or even a year turnaround.  Clinton road the wave of good economic policies before him and he road the wave of a false market.  While Bush is no genius on economic policy, he was starting out behind.

Uh yea.  I was over on the east side of town this morning (bpos) and they pay 10-15 cents less a gallon for gas over there compared to the western edges of LV where I normally fill up.  I was tempted to fill up on Lamb and Cheyenne at 6:30 am.

Anyhoo, it's a scam.

Funny how the whole Enron/wholesaler issue started happening in 2001 and then bam, 9/11 happened and the pressure was taken off the administration on the probe of that.

I am not saying it's all planned and a conspiracy but, I swear, I wonder all the time!

Notice how everything was centered around gas/oil prices as far as agenda for this election and then we have a sudden banking crisis and oil is creeping up silently again while no one is watching?

Futures are pure speculation, has nothing to do with supply and demand.  It's all part of the economic terrorism that has plagued our markets since the late 90s.

Things that make you say hmmmmmmmmmmm.  Drilling here won't stop it either with the lobbyists for oil and gas companies.  Please.

People need to start paying attention to what is REALLY going on.  Smoke and mirrors and more smoke and mirrors.

Renee - Thank you for coming around and did you know that 85% of the cars in Brazil don't even run on Gasoline!

Great comment and I do think people need to wake up and try to really find a solution to our problem.

Shane - It's crazy isn't it?

Nicole - I will agree with you and the Presidents came with the photo and I didn't have time to separate them, sorry!

Jared - Sorry, take the Presidents away from the photo and the prices don't change, why?

I noticed when it was down to $3.84 here the other day I thought that was cheap...???  I wonder how high it will have to go before people start doing protests.

Once we get oil companies out of politician's bedrooms, that is when we can change the whole thing, until then, hmph!  The gas conglomerates STOP new solutions dead in their tracks because they can.

Sir Richard Branson & T Boone Pickens has given two different insights into alternative energy.  Pickens is running a decent campaign for awareness and change.

Basically their explanations for this are (and I am combining this into my own words:)

The big oil companies put crack available for purchase on every street corner because they know we are addicted and will buy it.  Methadone IS available to curb and kick the addiction but they won't make it available in their outlets.

Get my drift?  It's that simple.

America is getting very impatient on this and if they blame the president then at least something might get done about it.

I think that's what will happen if the blame ends up on someone.

Thanks,

Tom - You may be right, I don't want to have to blame anyone. But sometimes when you go after say the President and put the blame on him, something happens.

Thanks for your comment, it really has me thinking.

Renee - I am to honest to be a politician, and you are right we are to smart.

Sharon - At your young age this is not possible.

Teresa - I am going to get you going, so let me have it. I think everyone should agree to get ride of the gasoline powered cars. And tell the Middle East where to go!

I love the gas prices now at under 1.80 but the economy had to crash to lower the price, I would rather pay more. It is amazing how much it can change in a few months.

Robert - I am sorry, I did have a photograph that displayed different gas prices but it was not my pic and I didn't want to get into trouble. Thank you for your comment just the same.
