As realtors we get calls all the time.. about listings, showing instructions, buyers, etc. This one I got today, takes the cake. Have any ActiveRain members run into this?
I received a call about a listing I have. The person who called is working with another realtor, and he stated this up front. I informed him that I did not want to step on any realtors toes, and would be glad to work with his realtor.
Next thing he tells me is that this call is only a courtesy call. He wanted to let me know that the listing I have for a condo would never sell. He knows the owner, and that she has a cat and that would detour people from buying. He would buy it in a minute if it weren't for the cat. Now here comes the clincher... He said he would work with me and buy it for 1/2 the price. I responded that I appreciate his concern, but if it were half the price, I would purchase it first.
He hung up saying "YOU'LL NEVER SELL IT".
Is this a new gimmick that buyers are trying?
