100% financing is still available!   USDA has a financing program that still permits 100%. In fact in some cases they will go to 102%! However, the home to be purchased must be in "rural" area. However, many homes that you and I would not consider to be in a rural are eligible. There are of course some credit and income restrictions but this is a great option for first time home buyers.
