Ever since I became a Spirit filled Christian,
I had been told about Gods grace.
I went to Sunday School learning the symbolic
letters of the word:
- Gods
- Riches
- At
- Christs
- Expense
What I was taught was that we had all these blessings because of our faith in the facts of Jesus' sinless life and example on earth, his giving up of His soverignty in being rich and powerful (He had no home of His own and He subsisted from day to day on the generousity of others) his suffering in being tortured and hung on the cross for our sins, His substitutionary death paying the penalty for our sinfulness, His going into hell to replace us (where we rightly belong because of our sins), being raised from the dead by The Lord God almighty because He was sinless and did not DESEREVE to be in hell, and His being raised to sitting on the right hand of almighty God in heaven ~~~ where He interceeds for us so we might continue to progress in our lives in glorifying who He is and thereby pleasing God the Father of us all.
(WOW ~~~ that was a LOT to read, wasn't it??!!??)
BUT I sensed that there was SOMETHING missing in all of the wonderful blessedness of my faith.
Have you ever been taught that grace is MORE than what I wrote up above? As I prayed on this, I came to understand through reading more teaching on the
subject of grace, that the definition of grace has ANOTHER facet about it:
- Grace is the DESIRE to do Gods will.
- Grace is the POWER to do Gods will.
BOTH of those abilities come FROM GOD...we cannot scare it up by being afraid of Gods judgement when we sin, get more of it by jumping up and down while we are singing at church ~~ we can't "desereve" more of it because we are witnessing to others about the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus the Messiah, and we can't get ANY MORE OF IT for any other reason than the one listed down below:
- We need to be humble about who and what we are.
- Humility is recognising that we are just dirty sinful human beings that cannot
overcome any of our sinfulness,
unless GOD helps us.
"God resists the proud, but gives GRACE to the humble." (James 4:6)
- Once we recoginze what and who we are, to STAY humble, there will be periodically periods where we will HAVE to examine ourselves to make sure we are living a life that glorifies who Jesus is."If we judge ourselves, we would not be judged, but when we are judged by the Lord we are discilpined for our good.(1st Cor. 11:31&32)" and "Whom ever the Lord disciplines, He loves. (Hebrews 12:6)"
We all would like fast solutions to problems in our lives, but God wants the Messiahs character to develop within us MORE than He wants us to have a painless and carefree life, so He lets those problems happen and Jesus prays (interceeds for us in heaven) that the pain from them will drive us TO HIM for the solutions to those problems...this can be achived by:
- Finding the answer to the problem by reading applicable scripture and applying what is learned to the problem. I have found psalms a praticularly healing area of the bible for those times I am frustrated to the point of not getting any sleep about problems in my life. Reading the biographies of people in the bible can give insights to what do in various situations also, along with reading a chapter of proverbs every day.
- Getting counsel from older, more mature Christians and doing what they recommend. This action CANNOT be over emphisised...a LOT of the time the Lord will direct you to a more mature Christian WHO HAS BEEN WHERE YOU ARE CURRENTLY.
- Going to the Lord our heavenly Father and talking to Him about the situation and letting him work through the previous two areas listed above in your life. (See the previous area of being HUMBLE... we NEED the Lord to help us, remember? Below I will explain WHY we NEED to do this)
- "The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord to search out the innermost areas of a persons being. (Proverbs 20:27)" The bible supports this way of living through a LOT of verses, but here are two I will list here: "The reproofs (admonishments and pointed dississions) of instruction are the way of life (NOT the way life CAN be sometimes....BUT THAT IS THE WAY LIFE IS.) [Proverbs 6:23] and this verse: "Whomever LOVES instruction, loves knowledge, but whoever hates reproof (the pointed disscussion mentioned above about who we ARE and what to do about it) is BRUTISH (like an animal and without sense) [Proverbs 12:1]"
What can happen when these principles are put into your life and used consistently?
- Unity in your family
- Unity in your place of work
- Unity in your subdivision where you live
- Unity in your relationships
Here are some posts I made a while back about getting
MORE GRACE and PEACE in your life and how to live a fruitful Christian life:

This little list of posts has over 15 included teachings on glorifying
the name and reputation of Jesus the Messiah in our lives.
(I am going to go over them myself and make sure I AM
living the way He wants me to.... ".........So that even if I
have preached to you, I myself might NOT get disqualified.
[1 Corinthians 9:27 ]"....hehehehehe)
The energizing power to live the Christian life is called "the
grace of God". (1st Cor. 15:10, Titus 2:11-12)
"God is able to make all the grace you need ABOUND to you. (2nd Cor.9:8)"
It STARTS by being HUMBLE
(REAL about what and who you are)
Will you do it and KEEP doing it?
This teaching on getting more GRACE for living a
fruitful and prosperous Christian life is brought to you by:
