Complaining About the Bailout

We can complain that the bailout is bad or believe that it is the only way for our economy to recover, but that’s only wasting saliva. The fact is: the government will pass a bailout bill in the next couple of days. We don’t have to agree and we don’t have to like it. They’re not asking for our opinion.

What we can do is to do the best job we can do to conduct our personal business with as much integrity and common sense as possible, and we must send those to Washington that will protect the resources of our country. Those who haven’t performed as leaders should be ousted.

This problem will resolve itself in the coming months and years, and if we get complacent and don’t require our elected leaders to act in the best interest of the country, not the party, we’ll find ourselves in a worse predicament. Sure the politicians have really messed this one up, but we share in the blame. We allowed them to remain in office without calling them to account when they failed us. If we expect change from government we have to demand it, not expect that it will come when nothing changes but an occasional face.

John, very well stated. There is plenty of blame to go around, but it's too late for that.

You are right, they are going to do something whether we like it or not. However we can do something about it.  If enough people email or call the congresspeople and the President, we can get some changes made.  This whole bailout reminds me of when they tried to railroad that immigration bill through.  People were very upset about it, and Washington got buried with complaints and the whole thing died before any legislation got passed.

Can anyone tell me WHERE we can complain? I heard this morning that a 700 billion dollar bailout equates to $400,000.00 a person in  the US. We sure as HELL could afford to improve the economy with that!!!
