I had an interesting and refreshing experience in Networking the last couple of weeks through the eWomen Networkhere in Boise, ID.  Their premise is to come from the position of giving to your fellow guests and members rather than the traditional hunting expedition of getting from others that so many newtorking events can lead and generate.ewomennetwork.com

I received a special invitation to a "Strategic Connections" meeting by Christiane Waters the Area Director.  It was a great time to meet some other Women Business Owners in our community in an intimate setting of six.  We were able to meet, learn and share some ideas we had on any business challenges and also to learn how we can better help each other in our respective businesses.  We had women that had a variety of backgrounds and businesses.  We had an Airbonne Vice Director, A Green Event Planning Company, A Financial Planner/Dance Instructor, Web Developer and Shoe Boutique Owner and me. 

I learned that we are all alike and growing, learning, being stretched during these times and most of all how much we really do need each other, too! 

If you happen to live in the Boise Metro area, you might also like to check out this very special place the next time you would like to buy some very unique and special shoes.  They are actually "one of a kinds" with new and older shoe designers from the east and west coast and some sprinkled in between that you will not find at the Big Box Stores.  Take time to visit:

I haven't joined the local eWomen group yet -- unfortunately they meet at a time when I'm unavailable, at least until my kids are old enough for full-time school. However, my CRDA (IRIS' Canadian sister organization) colleague Bev Norman found their events really helpful, both in learning new business strategies and in leads for her business.
