This Roscoe home was recently staged by Simply Staged Inc.  It has been on the market for six months and buyers are having a hard time visualizing the space.  Without furniture and accessories it is difficult to judge scale and see the possibilities.  Simply Staged Inc. was hired to showcase the features of the home and help buyers see the potential.

The home backs up to the 18th hole of the beautiful local golf course.  It also has the advantage of being located in a quiet cul-de-sac.  Lots of space here with a completed lower level.  Here are some before and afters of the home.

The living room looks like it had some awkward angles.  It looks like you made it come ALIVE!  Great JOB!

VERY nicely done!  Glad to see you took down the curtains in the living room.

Marci, you are right about that.  Would have loved to face the sofa toward the window, but the walkways would not permit it, and if I faced the couch toward the fireplace it cut the narrow room off too much and seemed like you ran into it upon entering.

Thanks Kathy!  That is kind of a tricky wall.  Thought it would be nice to break up the shapes being side by side with the print.

Certainly the windows would seem to be a good view.  However so many houses have such awkward walls that the best view is just not always possible.  You did a great job with the furniture placement.  I also liked how you played up the fireplace.  The bedroom was simple but very effective.

Michele, Nice!  When I see photos like this I really just don't understand why people have a hard time understanding what staging can do for a vacant.  You just can't ignore the fact that the after photos are so warm and inviting. You should have a quick sale on this one.

Thank you Vicki & Donna for your kind comments.  My fingers are crossed for a quick sale as the sellers have had it on the market for 6 months already.  Past time to move on!

Very nice and thank you for sharing.  It still always amazes me the difference staging makes in cold, empty spaces!

Thank you Tracy & Chrissie for your kind words!  Hope it sells quik too!

Debbie and Cathy, the family room with the tall ceilings felt especially cold and sterile when vacant.  The entry is smaller and opens to the family room - by placing furniture in the family room it made the whole space, including the entry feel larger.

Glad you took the valances off in the bedroom!  Those things date properties so much!  Nice job.

Thanks Lisa!  The valance was very dated and needed to be removed.  It hung low, so removing it also let a lot of light in and opened up the view.

Very appealing throughout, Michele. The living room arrangement promotes a good traffic flow & highlights those windows.

Traffic flow was certainly the dictating factor in arranging the family room.  Only so much wall space on one side of the room.  Thank you Kathy!!
