How do you remind yourself the reasons that you desire to be the best in realestate

Many would answer money money money. For me it is about freedom. I had worked in corp tax and accounting for 12 years before getting into the mortgage field. This career allows me to be creative. It allows me great freedom to share time with family. It allows me the options to recreate myself as a person. I just need to look at my three children and I am reminded why I desire to one of the best in the mortgage business. Again when I define being the best my definition is that I provide the greatest overall value and experience for the client. Since my business is 100% referral it grows through these steps and actions.

So what is it that you use to remind yourself that you need to push through things you do not like to do, or to make the extra investment in your business when you would rather not when funds are tight. Again if your not sure what that is you should take sometime this weekend to find out.

Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Freedom for me too - I've worked two and three jobs before at once ... it's all about time with the family and time to do what I like.  My goal is to be at about a 20 or 30 hour work week.  You only live once.

I agree..it's the flexibility in the schedule and not keeping a time card that keeps me in RE.

Freedom and challenge. Well now Im being challenged more than ever in the current market, which is taking up more of my time, leaving less freedom. Doh! I gotta find another reason. Real estate is my career and passion.

I love not having to report to a boss and having to deal with office politics.  I love the freedom to make my own decisions in how I run my business.  I love being creative in my job.  I love the expressions on my clients' faces when they get into their dream home or the relief I see when I sell their home. I love educating my first time buyers. I love this job and can't ever see myself doing anything else, roller coasters and all.

I'm not sure real estate gives us "freedom" since our clients have a good deal of control over our schedules.  I do like the work in my PJ's rule when I don't have any early morning showings.

Mike and Cindy, Thanks for the comments. When I speak of freedom. We determine our work schedules. We can push back on a client and say here are the times I can work with you. At a normal corp job you have less of a chance to take time off at 3pm to practice soccer with a child

Jen, Great point on the roller coaster and thanks for all the positives on this business

YOu know I don't know if I desire to be the best in real estate, I don't know if I want to work that hard or be that stressed, I just want to be happy, have fun and make enough money to live and save for retirement......

I have been working for what feels like forever but this is the first career that makes me feel free! I go to the office almost every day but having the option to go in when I want and leave when I want is simply amazing to me. I love it. For me, it is the freedom. I like the money too but the freedom is pricelss.

I think that freedom is very important.  I also like the fact that I am being paid to help people live the American Dream and honestly build their net worth.
