I just returned from a Life Celebration. The man, Bill, is dying from leukemia and is in hospice care. His family planned an event to honor his life and share with him what he means to them. It was a wonderful event. I was invited because I knew his son and had helped Bill and Joanne move into a cute little bungalow in February. Immediately after they had closed on their house, Bill was diagnosed with terminal leukemia.
When I entered the reception, Bill wanted me to sit with him so he could hug me and tell me how much they enjoy their new home. Joanne shared how much easier it is to provide the care that Bill needs in their new home that's all on one level. It is so much easier for Bill to face what he's facing with the knowledge that Joanne will have a nice place to live without worrying about all the repairs that were a part of daily life in their old home. They loved on me like I was special. I loved on them because they are.
I suppose this business can be reduced to commission checks and closings, but I hope it never is. I hope I never lose the wonderful feeling of helping make someone's life better by helping them get a home that works for them. I love this business.
Blessings,
