Hole by Hole Description of Mountain View Country Club Golf Course

Hole 1 (Par 4, 385 Yards) provides a grand entrance to the course where the sets of tees are elevated to offer you the best shot to the green, which is large and bordered front and back by lush grass swales.

Hole 2 (Par 3, 163 Yards) offers a tee that is slightly elevated making even the average golfer able to try for that birdie on a green protected by thick grass swales.

Hole 3 (Par 4, 435 Yards) play is determined by the location of the pin.  The pin on the left requires the shot to rise higher to miss the bunker in the front of the green.  The pin on the right requires a shot to the inside of the bunker on the right to achieve an accurate shot.

Hole 4 (Par 4, 417 Yards) is where the golfer has to go for broke on his first shot risking the water to avoid making his second shot a monumental challenge.

Hole 5 (Par 5, 583 Yards) suggests it is time to get the driver out and give it some power on this long and expansive fairway.  Watch the water on the second shot!

Hole 6 (Par 3, 157 Yards) isn't going to be easy as the green lies between a deep bunker and the water.  The green offers several pin placements that can make a difficult two-putt if you don't land in the right spot.

Hole 7 (Par 5, 548 Yards) can get the brave home with two shots if they want to meet the challenge of bunkers and arroyo within the dogleg.

Hole 8 (Par 3, 436 Yards) will be a challenge getting by the deep bunker protecting the green.  To land in it would require a shot of great expertise to exit.

Hole 9 (Par 4, 457 Yards) is a scenic shot that runs a quarter of a mile from end to end and sits between two large bunkers.  The green itself is challenging due to the deep bunkers, dips and grass swales.

Hole 10 (Par 4, 439 Yards) has lots of water down the side on the left and runs downhill. The second shot will be challenging.

Hole 11 (Par 5, 628 Yards) is impossible on first shot no matter how far you can hit. This hole is one of the most gorgeous on the course.

Hole 12 (Par 3, 176 Yards) takes you down a hill to a pin that is positioned to require a perfect shot.

Hole 13 (Par 4, 414 Yards) heads North, puts one's skills to the test but watch out for the water the length of the right side.  Using a mid-iron will facilitate getting to the generous putting area next to some large boulders.  Stay to the left side of the green to avoid getting wet.

Hole 14 (Par 4, 474 Yards) is again broad and saddle-like. Let the driver loose to reach the green avoiding the surrounding large bunkers.  You might take a look at the Palmer Tee behind the 13th green that will add an additional 40 yards.

Hole 15 (Par 4, 413 Yards) is known as a "Cape" type hole.  It is a chance of epic proportions and the water is very close and deceivingly so on that second shot.

Hole 16 (Par 4, 470 Yards) is one of Coachella Valley's hardest finishing holes.  The best approach is up the left side of the fairway.  If you approach to the right, view of the green will be difficult or impossible due to being tucked inside large ridges and behind pot bunkers.

Hole 17 (Par 4, 221 Yards) is an uphill best shot with a solid long iron or wood.  Keep to the right side.  Beware of shooting at the back left pin because the green is so narrow and there is a huge bunker towards the front and to the left.

Hole 18 (Par 5, 570 Yards) represents the greatness of Arnold Palmer and this beautiful and challenging course.  By using skilled strategy and a bold attitude the player is given the opportunity to achieve a score worth being proud of.  The two tiers give the player a choice of approach taking him to the second shot anticipating the challenge of avoiding bunkers and water features such a waterfalls, streams and lakes.
