Using symbols and special codes is necessary to communicate in some areas of highly specialized intelligent circles. The more clearly we can communicate, the more effective the message we convey. My wife and I had some communication issues shortly after bringing our second child into the world. We sought the advice of a marriage counselor. She asked us to tell a story, then she said that I was a PAINTER and my wife was a POINTER. What's a PAINTER ? It's a person who must go into great detail to paint all aspects of a circumstance or issue and it takes the listener a longer time to get the point. (Usually the listener starts to wander and wonder when the point will be made, sometimes wonder - what is the point to this epic story). Now my wife can get to the point in about 6 seconds flat... "Bring home milk... Dog needs bath ... Come eat now ... Clean the garage ... Make your point ... Lord Help Us " Anyway, my wife and I got alot out of the marriage counseling and are still married after 23 years now. We understand eachother's processing styles better than ever.  Are you a painter or a pointer ?
