Showing that a business is a socially responsible and giving business is the best marketing for a business.

One of the best friend always tells that you need to give something before you can get anything (meaning getting business from people).

I believe GIVING is a great marketing for any realtor, if not the greatest.

Giving does not mean volunteering although volunteering is an important part of giving. In my mind, the best giving is offering some expert help. Below is a list of ways that realtors can give.

1.Seminars

There are many places that might need a seminar. Seminar topics should not be restricted to real estate only. Other topics such as computer, digital photography, Fengshui, etc are all interesting topics.

2. offering free classes.

My daughter is attending classes sponsored by my local Parks and Recreation department. Many classes are free. Most classes are taught one hour per week. There are also classes offered for adults as well.

3, Free ebooks

Writing is a great way of organizing your expertise and ideas. I personally enjoying writing so much. I am working on a few ebooks that will be "published" on my website soon. There are many topics that we can write. Maybe I will write a separate post to brainstorm on topics.

4, Some handy services.

Being contractos, most realtors know many things, like how to fix a lock, door knob, etc.

5, After all, a great website with lots of free resources

Everybody likes free resources. By positioning YOU as a local expert on various resources, you automatically stand out among many other fellow realtors.

What else? please add.

How about offering your services in a pro bono cause?  My neighbor's house buned down last week, to the ground!  They didn't have any insurance.  As a good agent, I helped them find a new place on a lease without asking for a comm from the leasing agent.

Thank you, Rebecca. That is a GREAT point. I am adding it to the list now if you do not mind.

Pro Bono work is fine, but only if it results in a savings to the client in need. Rebecca, did the leasing agent lower their rent since they didn't pay you a commission?

Charity events are a good way to help out the community.  Especially, if it is a charity you are passionate about.

These are all great ideas and just acts of random kindness that we could do in our day to day lives.

Huiting:  I believe that it is very important to be active in your community.  Let people know what you do but do not "sell" them.  Lots of great ideas here.  Thanks for the post.

Huiting - Under the free seminar category - How about teaming up with a lender and explaining the different kinds of creative financing that is available that may help a seller still sell in this market and a buyer still buy - Seller financing, rent to own, lease option, teaming up with other lenders (private lenders, etc.).  Just a thought.  This seems to be a hot topic of conversation right now in Humboldt County CA.

Thank you for stopping at my blog earlier ... this is a great post ... and you have the loveliest, most transparent real estate profile I have ever seen! It is remarkable, especially since the flavor of commercial descriptors often is not terribly human 8-)

I offer free seminars every day ... I encourage REALTORS to use the same tools to reach consumers in their marketplace.

GIVING is wonderful marketing. This is a wonderful thought You made my day! Thanks again for visiting. Have a terrific week ... I know the people whose lives you touch are blessed.
