"Hero's get remembered, but legends never die"
Yesterday Boston honored a Red Sox legend, Jonny Pesky. I'm way to young to remember him playing or in fact even managing. But to me is a fixture of the Boston Red Sox dugout. It is truely not a game when you can't see this little old man sitting next to Big Papi laughing. He has touched so many lives in his almost 70 years with the organization. There would be no replacing him.
A friend of mine who now plays in the minor leagues, got to pick his brain for a few minutes before batting practice offered him some great advice. He told him, its not about the numbers that you put up, but how much fun you have while you do it.
Jonny Pesky is a legend to our beloved Red Sox as much as Teddy Williams and Yaz. For as long as #6 hangs in the bleachers and Pesky's Pole stands, we will never forget Jonny Pesky.
