Must Have iPhone Apps for Busy Real Estate Agents

Let me preface this by saying, I am an iPhone evangelist. Love Love Love it. I love finding apps that make my life easier, and as a real estate agent and social marketer, I'm always looking for ways to stay connected and multi-task effortlessly. The release of the iPhone 3G and robust app store have launched real estate agents and brokers into a whole new realm of connectivity.
Here are 7 iPhone applications (according to me :) that can make your life substantially easier.

  1. Trulia Real Estate Search

Alright...if you're going to hawk the other stuff you have to add one for the guys - Sportacular. Also, check out Loan Shark and Jott when you get a minute.

I've had a Blackberry, Windows Mobile Smartphone but the iPhone beats them all.

Haven't made the switch to an iPhone yet, but appreciate your list of apps. Between a good GPS system and WHERE, agents should really have their areas covered!

And to relax - if you have musical ability - you can tap the drum pads on Beatmaker & make your own drum sequences to put you in a trance (or offload & then make them as part of song in Garageband)  - or play the many cool games for the Iphone :-)   (still trying to figure out Enigma)   I like Showtimes to give you movie theaters in your area and what is playing at what time.  Or Maracas to shake the maracas when Karaoke singing (enhances the singing) :-)  Shazam recognizes any song that is playing nearby - and gives you the name to it if you don't know it.

I was starting to think I was getting this tecnology thing and then I ran across this post and boy am I behind times!  I seriously need a new phone and was considering a smartphone treo 700p, but it seems like everyone is going away from them now into something else.  Then I read above that someone is in verizon lockdown, so am I.  That tells me they don't sell the iphone.  I need to see how long I am in contract for too.

Stephen,

Yes, I will take you up on that offer if any of our local coastguardsmen transfer to Otis or Woods Hole. My husband and I started out his CG career there and it has always been near and dear to my heart.

To all,

Here are a couple more iPhone apps that a just plain fun (I tell ya I'm obsessed!): I love WhiteNoise, Twitterific (for Twitter), Pandora, Wordpress (for blogging) and Hanoi.

Hi Chrystie-I would love to have an IPhone and do have the Touch. I see you already use Pandora which is so cool. When keyboxes catch up the IPhone will be a must for me. I hope the mapping improves over time as it dosen't work well in rural areas yet.

Hi Chrystie, Wow, I have thought about an Iphone and I am out of contract with Verizon. I have a Treo and have been pretty pleased. I looked at ordering a Blackberry yesterday but would love to try an Iphone.. I read a post here on AR a while back where the guy even took a photo of his airline boarding pass with his Iphone and was able to scan it at the terminal.. Too cool..  Thanks for sharing! Stephen - The expense of owning an Iphone is probably a little higer than a normal phone due to its funtionalities. My husband and I are on a family plan with unlimited data and texting for around $200/ month BUT it is a business expense. Keep that in mind.

Cheryl - I've gotten used to the keyboard feature. I had a T-Mobile Dash before which had a nice qwerty keyboard, but once you get used to the iphone keyboard it's pretty easy to navigate.

For those app developers that don't know Objective-C and Cocoa Touch and don't want to outsource development, check out localbeacon (an iphone app builder) at www.bigforge.com. Full integration of Twitter and Facebook, multiple ways to add content into system, off-line access, robust infrastructure including a CDN for all rich content, ability to merge in audio/video and photo galleries, and push notifications.  Great for those who want to build just one app or developers interested in white label.

Here's an example of one of our apps - L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival at http://bit.ly/9o2R6S

We would like the chance to earn your business.

I saw several people ask if the iphone works as an e-key.  The answer is now yes!  I was getting really fed up with my ActiveKey.  I used to be able to turn off the radio on the ActiveKey, but they disabled the feature so it became such a pain to keep it charged.  Now they have a iphone adapter that attaches to my keychain doesn't use any power.  The iPhone app performs the updates very quickly and has a bunch of other features. Very pleased to get rid of the ActiveKey.

There is another useful real estate and mortgage app that you might want to check out, iQualify Pro. It is a new mortgage calculator on the App Store.  Has a powerful feature that allows real estate or loan professionals to pre-qualify their clients in seconds based on their income and other factors such as debt ratios. Great app, but need UI improvement.

A friend and I are in the process of developing a real estate app for home buyers. It helps home buyers evaluate a house/property based upon their own unique needs. We are launching in May 2011 for the iPhone, but we have some screen shots up on our Facebook page for those that might like an early look.
