The Change Will Do you Good!

Remember that song -- "The change will do you good"?  Sometimes convincing sellers of this is a home stagers biggest success!

It seems frequently I hear from sellers -- I'll do anything but don't ask me to ____________ -- they always have one thing they dig in their heels and don't want to do.  This home was no exception.  When I viewed the kitchen the homeowner said - Just don't ask me to paint the kitchen.

This house had been on the market for MANY months, and already had been previously staged.

From the front entry, you could see five different colors of paint -- and not in any planned palate!

before kitchen

After explaining this problem to the homeowner and a providing them a list of to do items, the homeowner went to work painting!  Some rented accessories from our inventory and this home transformed!

Yes -- it sold quickly with these minor changes

Was it worth that gallon of paint and a few hours of work?

Color this homeowner VERY happy!

Margaret ~ Oh yeah, that color in the kitchen is a killer!  It looks very fresh in the "after" picture.

Personally I love having color in my house and my kitchen has a similar color (but the effect is much different), HOWEVER this difference is WOW.  It is really a great transformation.  I think prospective buyers would really like the new, improved, neutral kitchen.  Great advice you gave!

That paint color was not doing anything for the kitchen and made the cabinets look cheap. Your after color and new shot looks great.

I agree -- I love color also -- but I've read the statistic that 40% of paint colors are not correct or do not turn out as the buyer originally intended -- I think this kitchen fell in this category!  If anyone has info on a similar statistic I'd love to hear it!

The change is wall color was critical! Another challenge is removing wallpaper!

How refreshing!  Many buyers would have had issues with the color before.  I think you definately improved the salability of this home!
