I have a Blackberry 8703 since I converted from Palm about 3 years ago.  I love the email capability of the Blackberry but, I'm not wild about the phone.  I carry a camera so, that's not an issue, though I know the new Blackberry's have camera's as well.

I need a great email device that's also a good phone.  I'm not all that concerned with the ability to use the device for the MLS but, that might change in the future.

What are you using?  What do you like about it?  What's it lacking?

Thanks for your help,

Andy

I am using the palm centro. I like it alot. I ended up getting it because it was the only phone at Verizon that works with our MLS. I love the fact that I can open lock boxes with it and I never have to put it on a cradle to update. That alone makes it worth its weight in gold!

Andy -

Palm Treo 755P for me.  I still like the Palm interface - don't access the MLS all that much from my PDA, but can if I want to.

Great for email and web as well.

I have had a Blackberry for MANY years.  about a year ago I got the Blackberry pearl. It is a great phone, and the camera in it works very well.. in fact most of the photos in my blogs are from the BB.

I have heard of people having problems with the Palm Phones more often than the BB's.

My only complaint about the Blackberry pearl is the key board.  it is still QWERTY, but it shares keys and will often guess wrong when you are typing, IE: ARE and SEE are the same key strokes and it guess wrong 1/2 the time and the two words are not exactly interchangeable!

If I ever upgrade I will probably consider the BB curve with the full QWERTY key board.

Wow, I appreciate all the comments, it seems we have a lot og PalManiacs here.  I understand they've improved the email to be closer to a Blackberry.  Another concern that I have with the Palm device is that I am VERY rough on phones - I drop them constantly.  The 8703 that I have is like a tank, it can;t be hurt - although I guess I did crack the glass in my last one.  The Palm, on the other hand, has the very fragile touch screen which I have broken many times.

Are the newer Blackberry's as sturdy???

I just switched from the Treo 650 to the Treo 750w. still getting used to the windows platformm but it is a huge improvement from my 650. My wife has the BB curve and it works really well, I would have chose the BB if they were E-key compatable.

750 likes- quick email, download any file, 3G compatable

750 dislikes- shorter battery life, phone features a little lacking

I'm using a Verizon VX something or rather and I wouldn't reccommend it.  It's great to get my email there and be able to open lock boxes with it, but the phone just plain sucks.  Dropped calls ALL the time!

Hope, is it the phone or the service?  Did you have the same service with a different phone before you got this phone?

I played around with a Windows based TREO about ayear ago, I found it incredibly cumbersome - and I am a Windows guy.  Very painful interface for me to work through.

I know people who live the Iphone, thanks for the suggestion.  I simply will not buy any Apple product.

I had the Treo 650, but just got the iphone. I'm not an Apple fan, but the iphone has worked out well for the most part. It's great for browsing the web and checking e-mail (especially attachements). THe only negative is the keyboard, there are no keys for punctuation on the ABC part, so you constantly have to switch back and forth between the screens.

Well, I've never been so big on punctuation, anyway.
