FIRST TIME HOME BUYERS SEMINAR

By
Home Inspector with CASA BUILDING INSPECTIONS LLC
This was a great way to increase business and network with realtors in my area. The seminar was held at Binghamton University (SUNY) in Vestal N.Y. The turn out was a little low due to last minute planning however, this truely was a great experience.I would recommend this to any home inspector who is trying to increase their business. I would also like to thank all the people who worked so hard to put this together , Exit Reality, A-Choice Funding, Fred Xlander, and Wells Fargo.

Who organized the event?  Was it the college?

Robert,

Homebuyer seminars are very time consuming and not as rewarding. Your experience changed my vies a bit.

Thanks for sharing,

The event was organized through Exit Realty.  The lecture hall was rented through Binghamton University and included in the rental was lunch, parking signs all over campus, and nearby parking.  The lecture hall was equipped with three wide screens and all the necessary computer/AV equipment needed.  Marketing was easy- a small ad in the local paper in which people could respond by either phone or email.  There was an abundant amount of people and organizations willing to participate. Due to tax returns just aroun=d the corner, this was the perfect time to hold the seminar.  Any additional questions or ideas that have worked in your area, please let me know.

Thanks for the post Robert.  Great ideas!  I've been wanting to do a seminar but I haven't worked on it yet.  I think holding it at the college and targeting the students might be an idea.  There really isn't a "How To Buy Your First Home" college course.  Might not pay off right away but you never know.  :-)
