Have you ever creeped up on someone and scared them out of their mind by saying... BOO!

I have on several occasions. It appears that the economy has done that to most of America.

BOO!...Bailout doesn't get approved! BOO!...home prices down. BOO!...banks failing! BOO!...foreclosures up! BOO!...stock prices down!

The list could go on, but by now you are really scared and I sort of feel bad.

BOO!

Okay seriously I am done.

Besides me right now. Who keeps scaring you with the big BOO! Take a look deep inside yourself for a few moments....

What are your fears in this economy?

Why are you afraid?

What can you do to calm yourself?

What can you do now that can create positive momentum?

What GOOD can come out of this for you?

Hopefully you found some good that can come out of this. Now look at what you are doing now and the results you are getting.

What is working?

What is not working?

What do you need to do more of?

What do you need to do less of?

If you actually have answered these questions you will find that you are in control of your own destiny. So next time someone says BOO!... You can just laugh knowing you are not scared but are more then equipped to do GOOD things now and moving forward.

Chuck, you are so right on. I've also been telling the agents at our company to just keep focused, take time to enjoy the good things, stop and smell the roses, and engage in stress-relief like taking a walk or playing with grandkids. This too shall pass, and while there will be some casualties, we have no choice but to persevere.

Good post!!! I'm not a big sports fan but I did admire Don Shula, the Miami Dolphins head football coach many years ago. He wrote a book on winning with someone by the name of Blanchard (I think). The one thing that always stuck with me was Don Shula's 10 ingredients for winning. Of the 10 only 1 stuck in my mind throughout all of these years. It's the one that I deemed most important from all listed. "AUDIBLE READY."

In football, when the quarterback goes to the line of scrimmage and he sees something in the defense that could possibly hinder his next play or could be an opportunity to capitalize on he has to be "AUDIBLE READY." He has to be able to make a change in his game plan on that split second and carry out that change. In today's rapidly changing and evolving real estate market, you MUST be "AUDIBLE READY" to succeed.
