ActiveBrad's "TOP FREE Picks"

ChicagoAgentMagazine.com who also runs MiamiAgentMagazine.com contacted me last week, they wanted to know if I would write an article for their magazines this week. Zipporah Porton, Senior Editor, asked for Active Brad’s Top FREE sites or web-tools for REALTORS®. WOW! That's a BIG task. There are so many FREE websites and applications on the WEB, I felt writing an article like this would be somewhat challenging. I do love a good challenge, so here's what I came up with. These are all sites I have personally seen, used and recommended to others in and out of the rain this past year.

Since these Magazines obviously don't have links (though they might in the future) I decided to post links to all the sites listed in the article. I even threw in a few extras for all my AR friends. Yes, this took hours to complete, but don't ask me how many. It has taken me all year to build this list, here are my top 150 plus.

After about 5 months on the internet, it is amazing how many connections I am starting to get.

Like Mike Mueller's post comparing the internet to a water cooler.

This is a great list!! The one place you're missing, though, is REAL TOWN, which of course is another real estate community, similar to Active Rain, and also with over 100,000 members. (Links usually viewed as are but I hope it's ok to add RealTown.com.)

You know I think I could toss in a few sites for free stuff as well. Software etc. Some good video editing how to sites. Its just hour 16 of my day and I cant see straight!

Hi Brad, Congrats on having your addition in an excellent article. There are so many sites, you must done a lot of head scratching trying to limit the number. What would guess, a few thousand?

Another group list that could help many REALTORS is all the "Best" sites to enter there listings. So companies say by uploading your listings with them, guarantees at least 25 or 30 of the best sites that share with. What we don't know are what sites to trust in the first place. And what they do with the information they gather. New questions are being raised on possible liabilities.

Of course, this is absolutely terrific, you compiled it conveniently together, but would it be too much to ask whether it would be even more important to put the list of programs that you find the best in each category whether free or not free. This would really complement this list. I just do not know anyone else, who could do a list like that.

Brad-Your commitment and dedication to AR is so amazing. You may not have started AR as you had corrected me on a little while ago but your contribution and passion for making this what it is today is something you can be very proud to say you are a significant part of. AR wouldn't be what it is without you. You are very much the face of AR for a lot of us. That is not to take away from anyone else who is a part of the AR team. Even though I haven't yet checked out the rest of the team, I know they all must be a great team to put together such an awesome network. This post must have taken a lot of time and thought. I know, I'm not the only one that appreciates all your hard work. I've already bookmarked this to come back to. I've been a member for a little while now and may not have started learning about everything this network has to offer in the most organized way but I have realized the value of it very quickly and I love it here and I've so enjoyed the folks I've gotten to meet and will continue to meet the longer I'm here but it is posts like this that really let me know that I have to kind of start again in some areas and be a newbie all over again. I hope you've learned that this comment is not just one of those (GPTFS)I think I got those initials right. They came from you. That is I think a lesson I've learned about myself since I've been here that I can't just comment without putting a lot of effort into it and I learned that some people will appreciate that, I think you being one of them and others will think "I'm too wordy" But's that OK. I will learn over time who those folks are and just spend most of my time on the quality of my comments to the people who will appreciate my efforts. Brad- What a fantastic list! And that was a lot of work. Zappora did my post on getting listings from my active rain blog a couple of months ago, I should have blogged about it:)

For online radio, I love Pandora.com

I absolutely love open office, that is now where I write my books. Google docs is awesome, so is Google notebook. I use both a lot. We use google docs with our virtual assistant, she can see what we see and visa versa. You don't have mixpo under video. We are starting to use Jott! What a great tool!

I would add one more catagory, fast html converters, Nvu.

Wow, this post is great and bad. Great for all the resource that you make available to us for free. But bad because more for us to explore, haha. I really appreciate all your effort you do for us in ActiveRain. Once again great work.

As a newbie to AR, I really appreciate this post--especially on where to find photos!!! Half of it I had no idea what it was but I figure if I keep reading on AR--sooner or later I will figure out 1/2. LOL

OK....I just updated this list with one final LAST upgrade.

I've included some FREE Listing sites to promote sellers properties, open houses, and condos, and I snuck in a couple other various links that I forgot to add the first time around, this brings the total over 200+ now.
