Beautiful Bridal Falls is another one of those places I have driven by a dozen times a month, and yet its been 25 years since I last took the time to take the small hike and revel in their splendor.  Monday my daughter Sarah and I decided to take a mid-morning.  Now Sarah is a hiker extraordinaire.....and she said.......'mom its a gross exaggeration to say this is a hike!'..ummm yeah aha..

What she didn't question though was the their incredible beauty...and fortunately the "DANGER do not go beyond this point Signs"  DID deter her from climing all the way up them......

I told you she was an avid hiker but did I tell you she was like the wind?

Decided to Try this one in sepia...

                                   And a Monchromatic Blue/Black..............

                             Black and White.....

... Tumbling over a smooth rock face, creating a "veil-like" effect.

And in all its Beautiful Glory!

Years ago - on the first day of my honeymoon - we made a quick stop here - thinking how  apropo.......Honeymoon/Bridal........you know? Long time ago.....

At any rate... Bridal Falls is the Sixth Highest Falls in Canada....Its nestled at the foot of Mount Cheam.........with a drop of 400 feet to the valley floor at Bridal Falls Provincial Park - the falls flow into Bridal Creek and then make their way to Cheam Lake Regional Nature Park and the Fraser River.

It truly is a sight to behold........pack a picinic, bring a blanket & don't forget your blanket!

Liz...

I was taken aback when I read the title, as there is also a Bridal Veil Falls in N.C> as well as B.C. Nice photos, I enjoyed taking the trip with you and Sarah.

Gorgeous! We have Bridal Veil Falls here and it's very similar. They put a tiny post office there and brides from all over the state of Oregon make the journey to have their wedding invitations postmarked with that name.

Your daughter is adorable!

Liz, you just have this "awesome" nature all around you. I like how you varied the colors with your incredible (as always) photos. Isn't their also a Bridal Veil falls in Yosemite in California?

Liz, what fabulous photos. I have never seen Bridal Falls in Canada but it looks spectacular and you captured so many great shots. Does the fall freeze during the Winter. I bet that is equally spectacular. Thanks for sharing it with those of us who have never had the opportunity to see it.

So cool! I am falling in love with your little neck of the woods. I'm a nature lover...anything real and green gets my attention. I have recurring dreams of disappearing into the mountains with just my sketchpad and charcoals...and just drawing for days. My hubby is MUCH too protective to let me, though...and he can't be away from technology for more than 24 hours without having withdrawals.

GBU, my friend! :-)

Liz - What breaktaking photos!  I could almost feel the spray of the falls!  I had the opportunity to visit Niagra Falls about 10 years ago on both the U.S. and Canadian side and came away speechless.  There is nothing more beautiful in the world.
