Will posting to more groups get me more comments on my blog???

Just a newbie question here. I'm working on my blogging and having fun but still learning.

I noticed that some blogs are being posted to several groups, like 30 or 40 groups. Is this possible because I find that I am limited to just 5 groups. Also, how do you post to a specific geographic area.

Any advise on how to post to more groups so that you can get more exposure for your blog?
