James Whitcomb Riley. 1853–1916 This is one of my favorite poems for one of my favorite time of year; the air is crisp, it's time for harvest festivals, apple picking, hayrides, pumpkins

and Haunted Houses.

Halloween is just around the corner...... if you are within driving distance of Lynchburg, Virginia make plans to come to Scaremare. This is a local institution sponsored by Liberty University and is appropriately held in a large, old creepy, claustrophobic building. Lynn, a friend just dropped off a plate of home baked goodies- just because it was fall. How nice!!! You have a great weekend as well.

Elizabeth, there are so many events, too little time at this particular point. We're volunteering at a Charity Home Tour tomorrow and will be attending a Sorghum Festival next weekend. I still have that big bag of apples to bake! Thanks for stopping by!

Ann, I haven't watched that movie in years! I do play a 'spooky' cd when the kids come around....it's all about the atmosphere!

Danny, lol, was it out of fear or annoyance?

Debbie, actually it was because he jumped from behind a door with a chain saw and I reacted. Lets just say that the acohol might have had a little to do with it.

LOL! Danny, I love being scared at haunted houses and I probably would have done the same thing.

This guy is in my foyer, he's been moved three times since Kat decorated for Halloween because he freaks me out if I look in the hall and see him or walk by. Now he's right at the door so he can freak people out when they come to the door!

My Butler

Yeah, see that I would probably punch out. Or worst, when I came down for coffee in the morning me and the dogs would wail on him.

His head comes off, talk about scary! LOL... and he's as tall as me, it messes with you when you walk by and it's dark. Thankfully Duncan doesn't pay attention to him.

Debbie, if it did not come off and he spoke to me in the dark, it would be a removable head after that.

Danny, I forgot to tell you that this thing breathes, moves it eyes and head, it is totally creepy!

Debbie, I can see me wrestling with it now. It would be in pieces in a box.

Debbie, Scaremare sounds like fun - I love haunted houses and any event even loosely related to Halloween. Last year I went on a moonlight pumpkin walk with over 1,000 lit jack-o-lanterns. That butler in your hallway looks pretty scary :) Nice to see people who are into the holiday :)
