JUST ANOTHER DAY IN OCEAN SHORES, WA.!  AKA, PARADISE OF THE NORTHWEST...

My parents have lived in Ocean Shores for 6 years, they built their dream home on the ocean with 360 degree views and just a short stroll to the beach! My mother combs the beach most days finding everything from the unusual to the ordinary. The list of finds include a large light bulb with Japanese writing on it, hundreds of agates, sand dollars, starfish, shells, buoys, floats, bow lines & other flotsam and jetsam. Please enjoy the pictures and the story, SEA all you are missing here in PARADISE?

Hi Everyone,

Check out these pictures.  I was walking on the beach Monday north of our house and
saw a sea lion right at water's edge.  Then he (or she) went into the water swimming
and I watched it and eventually lost it in the waves.

As I walked back toward our house, I saw it on the beach (water's edge) right in
front of our house.  It was amazing.

I hurried up the path and Tom came down with the camera.  After watching it for
about an hour, it laid down and I started to wonder if it was hurt.  I went back up
the house, called Animal Rescue and told them what I had seen.  The lady informed me
that sometimes they come up on the beach to rest for hours at a time, and when the
high tide would come in, if it was okay, it would go back out into the ocean.  So I
would watch it, go back to the house and back to the ocean (5 times).  It still was
laying there, only would put its head up when someone would approach which several
of us were trying to keep people from getting too close.

On my 6th trip back to the beach, it was gone and high tide was coming in.  I was so
relieved that it seemed to have been just resting (like the Animal Rescue lady) had
told me.  I walked up and down the beach at this point just to make sure it wasn't
somewhere else on the beach.

What a wonderful experience it was to watch it for about 4 hours.  It's amazing what
you see out in the ocean, plus this was something extra special.

Enjoy the pictures!
