And I wanted to share it with you. I asked a question from a fellow Active Rainer and he gave me some great information. I asked how did he was able to tell how many incoming links were going to my website. Mike Bates (Hawaii Homes) a relative newcomer has gotten into the full swing of Active Rain and shared info. That is what makes Active Rain Great.

Here is how you find out how many pages you have on your site and how many incoming links. Go to Yahoo then type in site:www.RussRavary.com so type in site:(and your website address)

Then click on links.

This is what we all strive for incoming links to our websites. So go and check out how many incoming links you still need to get.

Another way is to build links for your sites, byt submitting to certain directories. I added mine in www.agentbrokerforum.com directory, it has added another powerfull link to my site.

Another tip if you want to know if the directory site is powerfull, check their page rank.

These are good tips, and lead me to check out more info on "incoming links", which I don't know much about yet. What are they, exactly? And/Or what is the benefit?

Let's say you blog on active Rain when you hyper link back to your site that will be an "incoming link" Other websites will link to you once you become an authority. Once you have enough information on your website other people will link to you and your website as a place to go to get information on big rapids real estate and the big rapids area. Incoming links are one of the factors that google uses to rank websites. The more incoming links usually means the website is "good" according to google and other search engines. The benefit of having lots of incoming links is that google will rank your website higher.
