THE CHICAGO IL REAL ESTATE MARKET, AND OTHER THINGS CHICAGO, FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF A LITTLE WHITE DOG!
Good morning, you dogs!
You know, I've lived in Chicago my entire life - three-plus years now. And I have learned a lot.
But these two things the most -
1. North Side Chicagoans LOVE their Cubs, and . . .
2. Losing seems to be their DESTINY, and I don't know why!
Our Chicago Cubs won 97 games during the just-completed regular season - best record in the National League, and second best in all of Big League Baseball. Great pitching. Timely hitting. Stellar defense. All summer long!
A record three-million-plus fans filling every seat at Wrigley Field, all year long, cheering them on!
And, then, in the October ritual of post-season play, our beloved team CHOKES! Poor pitching. Poor defense. Practically non-existent hitting.
For the last two Division Series Playoff Games at Wrigley Field, they played like a bunch of pups who have never been on a baseball field before.
Against theLos Angeles Dodgers, Wednesday's 7-2 loss against our best pitcher, Ryan Dempster. Last night - another heart breaker, pitched by Big "Z" - Carlos Zambrano - as errors by three-fourths of the Cubs infield put the Cubs behind 5-0 after two innings, on their way to an eventual 10-3 defeat.
The Boys in Blue are one game from elimination - again. Yes it's possible they can win three straight, beginning with two in Los Angeles over the weekend.
But it's highly unlikely - yes?
Another year, another broken heart for Cub fans around here - human and canine!
If I can find a good Dog-Friendly Bar - I'd belly up with my Human Daddy Dean and drink an Old Style Beer, favorite of Chicago Cubs fans everywhere. I would probably start crying in that beer, however. And a dog's not supposed to cry!
Keep the faith, you dogs! There's always next year, right? Yeah, sure!
But we'll still be here, resilient, new attitude, cheering them on, as we always, always, always have.
And, Little Gracie - my Pup Reporter - in a couple of years, you'll better understand all of this, just like I do now.
See my post from yesterday evening, pre-Game 2, via BlogChicagoHomes.com, for a bit more insight from this Little White Dog.

I think Pinella and Torre are proven winners and both great managers....I just think Torre might have more experience winning right now and maybe some luck too. I do think the Cubs have come a long way but I guess only one team can win.
Precious little fellow there....I love my little dog Zeke too he's a 7 pound pomeranian....
Dean, No tear in my beer YET. What ever happens in LA on Saturday will happen. We have already began to plan for next summer trip to Chicago's Wrigley Field. Wing and a prayer. I am hoping for a come back.
GO CUBS GO!
Go PHILLIES GO!! I just had to chime in. After last years blunder of a post season I'm tickled they can make it an extra step! You guys think Howard has any hopes for MVP? BA stinks but HR and RBI's thats something else ... :-)
Last night's performance was more than a little odd. I don't know whether the pressure of the playoffs is getting to them or they are just lost focus. Good lucking getting back to Wrigley.
The way the Cubs have handled themselves all season, I was sure this was going to be the year. Now I'm wondering if the curse was for real. They are too good of a team to fold like this.
Dean
Little buddy is very observent.
Sincerely
Tom Braatz
Hey, everyone -
Thanks for warming the cockles of this Little White Dog's heart. It's great to be around friends, of all breeds, as well as their Designated Humans, at a time like this.
Enjoy the weekend!

I don't know about you, but I'm wondering who took the 97 game winning Cubs and replaced them with these "players". My 7-year old's team looked better at times than these alleged pros.
Looks like I'll be in full Bears and Blackhawks mode come next week! :(
