How I am (or you can be) ......a multi tasking real estate agent!

WooHoo!  By:  Celeste "SALLY" Cheeseman, Century 21 Liberty Homes, Mililani, Hawaii

1)  I think you have to be a woman anyway, right?  (trying to give myself an edge here...haha)

2) Get the fastest internet service provider there is.  (my husband just got us "Turbo Roadrunner "....and I just "know" it's faster because it's $10.00 more per month!)

3) After you get the fastest internet service....you can open many windows at one time, (if you have Vista it has windows cascading so you know which one you're at or want to go) you can check the internet for pictures to put in your blog, type a blog, answer comments on the other window you have open for Active Rain (gotta have two window open for this!)  work on your listing, flyer, outlook and emails, files you're working on etc. all at one time.

4) While waiting for a new comment from A/R to notify you of new comments to your post...you can open your spreadsheet for tax stuff (i.e spreadsheet has commission/any fees taken out/my % and net after estimated taxes) and start doing the math for current taxes owed.

5) Now write your checks for Federal and State estimated taxes owed (thank God I already sent in the GET tax check!  Oh, and by the way, our GET went up a half percent so we can all pay for the rail system that should be "breaking ground" around 2009? You got to see the cartoon on The Biggest Turkey of them All.)

I gotta ask all of you Rainer's out there.....how many of you agents would cart around a client on the rail system?  So why do we have to pay that extra?  I haven't been on a bus in 7 years (emergency and should have taken a taxi) and will definitely not utilize this system when they voted for it to go through places I rarely go anyway!

6)  Run and check on the Pork Chops/steamed vegies in the Turbo Cooker (do you folks have one of these?  Man, you don't have to worry about burning anything....just keep adding water.  HAR HAR)

7)  Ask your husband/wife to  get up and make the mashed potatoes so you can finish the blog (hard to do that if you're typing...so gotta include family for multi-taskin)

8) Have your husband/wife serve you while you're still typing and eat biteful in between typing words.  (make sure and thank him!)

9)  Jump up real quick and make copies of the checks and voucher's that you forgot to do a minute ago.

10) Answer a comment real quick while answering cell phone and jotting down info of agent showing property.

11) Stuff the envelope with the checks.

12) Listen to your husband/wife faintly - telling you to get off the PC already!

13) Make like you don't hear...Didn't work.

14) Tell husband/wife sure honey!  Sllloooowwwwllllly close out windows while doing last minute answers for blogs, emails

15) Add a couple more pictures before posting blog

Done!  Hope you all had a Happy Easter Day..... Because this is how my day went so far.....darn...signing off....Sally!

Sally-yes we are all multi-taskers.  Some better than others. Sounds like you had a full day!  Happy Holidays and I enjoyed your post

Sally,

Yes you are different:) But apparently in a good way. I see that you are succumbing to the addiction that is Active Rain. I took today off from everything so I could enjoy my Easter. Happy Easter to you:)

Irena:

Thanks!  We had a very relaxing day....the pork chops were wonderful!

Midori:

Oh, yeah....until he kept insisting I get off....then we watched a three hour movie....and now back on again. (good thing I got a gamer husband....he doesn't mind the computer stuff until it's time to eat and relax)

Karen:

I was just telling someone else who was from Newport, Rhode Island that I was actually born in the Naval Hospital in Newport....small world on A/R!  I enjoyed the day off!

Sally,

Very cute and sadly way too true.. it's hard to do just one thing anymore we are so conditioned to having to do way too much..

Kaye:

I know!  I feel so bad when I have to ask my husband to take me to a client's house and help me carry all the staging stuff in!  Or how about the times I had to have him actually redo an electric switch/outlet so the ceiling fan would turn on/off with the switch?  And the list goes on....I love my husband!

Sally-Turbo Roadrunner??????  Holy cow, I am just figuring out how to use the stock roadrunner to its true capabilities.  You go girl!  Aloha!

Dave:

All I know is that my husband is happy (damn gamers always need the best of everything...vidio card, upgrading every year...faster, better graphics etc. etc.)  For me it just matters that I can "multi task" with MANY windows open and it doesn't slow anything down....on top of having files open as well......Hope you guys had a nice day!

My version of mutli-tasking was:

Watching TV, answering e-mail, talking on the phone and eating lunch all at the same time.

Randy:  Where's the family stuff?  I know I always hound...but I noticed you are doing more now!

Marc:  I told you.....women can do this....and if I wanted to I could have hahahaha!

my problem is I can multi-task ,but I am more organized when I am unorganized

04/09/2007 09:04 PM by Neal Bloom-Realtor ® Assoc.-CRS-Weston FL (RE/MAX Premier Associates)

Sounds like my mom....junk all over and when we go in to clean her house she insists she doesn't know where anything is because we cleaned up!

AHa!  You're a native Rhode Islander! I knew there was something different about you:)  RI can't compete with Hawaii, though. And I'm sure you don't remember it at all, unless you grew up here also?

Celeste,

I like that feature from vista, but I still have not installed it, many issues for me at this time, I will wait a little bit until they get more patches.,  but good for you  Mrs, Multitasker :)

04/10/2007 02:14 PM by Deborah Richter (Century 21 Bowden Realty)

Ray:

I don't have it on my work PC (not compatible with my all in one printer thingy) but it's on my husband's gaming machine and his work machine.....I just get to watch until all the bugs are out...

Gary:

Gotta love it..... are you a multi?

Dianne and Deborah:

We're special and men only know how to ask where this or that is.

I love the part about - "honey, get off the pc, already" sounds like my house. AND my husband. Another great post!

04/13/2007 11:45 PM by Portland Oregon Real Estate | Alecia Barnes - Broker (Phommany & Phommany Realty, Ltd.)

Alecia:

Yeah, but you try getting my husband off his game...he says, "Oh, wait...gotta kill this thing...move to a safe place...wait...gotta buy this stuff and sell this stuff....and OMG...this things coming after me" and on and on and on....funny.
