For those of you who didn't ready the 450 page rescue bill, you should have.
I did, and it is full of lot of things that will in no way help the public get affordable housing, or defcent loans. What we the People have done is to allow the government to grow more cumbersome at our children and grandchildrens/ expense. This is a huge economic problem, but the government cannot possibly solve it through bureaucracy. This will cost us all dearly, and we seem not to care.
I encourage you to look at the record posted below for the Senate and the House. If the voted yea, let's vote them out.

Here is how the House voted:
H R 1424 YEA-AND-NAY 3-Oct-2008 1:22 PM QUESTION: On Motion to Concur in Senate Amendments BILL TITLE: Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008
Unfortnuately, thsi will be the case. Paulson is like a kid in a candy store. Congress gave him a $700BB bill, and tossed a hungry child into a candy store asking him to buy only one piece of candy...
Isn't there a distinct posiblility that some of the Congressmen are listening to their constituents and doing what they're asked to do. . . represent? Now isn't that a nice thought :)
I'm happy at least to see that our local congressman voted nay! I can't say the same for our senators but then they piled the bill with all that extra pork.
Thanks for taking the time to make the list I know that it took some work. I appreciate your time, I can see that the good old boys club is still alive & well in IL. I will pass this along to all that are interested.
I have no respect for the politicians at all, but the rescue pakcage was necessary to stablize the mess that they allowed and helped create. Not passing the package would be a disaster. Read my last blog post Protecting the American tax payer Disgraceful.
Nick, Now that the bill has had a few days to simmer, please explain why that stupid piece of legislation was actually necessary? How has it helped markets improve. How many foreclosures in your neck of the woods have been stopped as a result of its passage? How many jobs has it saved?
I am curious about your reasoning. You see, I believe htat this bill only added more toes enetered into the pool of socialism. I cannot see anything good from it, because it further burdens the taxpayer, and only prolongs the abuses of the Fed and Treasury Departments.
But, I a rational and reasonable person, so i implore you to show me rationally and reasonably how rewarding thieves and extortioners is good for business.
Thanks for the information. The CEOs are loving this. They can destroy their companies with greed on the backs of the American people.
