The Faltering Economy and the Root Causes thereof:

We must return to a time when we lived within our means and saved for ourselves and our children's futures. Ultimately, it is our own greed that has delivered us to this precipice. We need to rediscover a time of reliance on our own considerable talents and quit looking to government to bail us out. When my children make bad decisions I tell them they must own it and fix it. Should we ask less of these captains of finance and industry? I think not! 

Well said! I couldn't pick just one statement- I had to copy half of the blog ;) I don't know what's going to happen to the financial system in our country after all is said and done with this mess but I hope one things comes out of this- responsibility! People need to know that when they do something they need to expect some sort of repercussions. People need to take responsibility for themselves and their money and spend it wisely. I think it takes something like this to snap us all back into sense!

Ken, the thing I find so interesting is that buyers that were so appauled at the greed of sellers when the market was good and now many of the buyers are exercising similar traits.  It's no longer good enough for some to get a good deal... they want to see blood!  It's very sad and I agree that everyone shoulders blame and needs to fix it.

I do believe some of the hype that scared buyers out of the market and convinced many to not get back in it was created by the media and some of the same financial institutions that are now suffering because of it.
