Yep! Fwa! I'm parked and I'm not moving until I get it ;-)
Seriously, this is very heartfelt and it reflects the angst we all feel about the publics misunderstanding of the good people (US!) who serve our industry. You want humanity? Just take a look at those still standing. So many of us are truly suffering and while we know we can go back to previous professions or simply throw in the towel - we continue to churn out another days futility work because we genuinely want to help people make their dreams a reality. THAT is humanity. And I wish the freaking media would shut the hell up about gloom and doom and tell that story.
p.s. I don't make my bed and neither do you. Besides, who wants to sleep anyway?
Only you could discuss "higher power" and end with some Moody Blues...I am impressed and we are always more than "the drill!
Jennifer, I think you will need as much wine as Jason had to 'get it'
Don't worry...be happy!
Jennifer - Well put and I will be writing about the closing I had yesterday and the upcoming one next week. People need to be informed and educated, no lousy sales pitch or empty promises... it seems trust is something our industry has to earn back. And about the media, just give me a talk show;-)
Russell - Yes we are. I've been a staunch fan of the Moody Blues since I first read their lyrics. Prose is muy importante to me.
Tom - Wine? I'm a beer guy. Though, I suppose the 'buzz' is different. Listen smart alleck, do you 'get it'?:-)
Neal - Thank you Mr. Mcferrin.
I had a lady come to my office the other day who yelled at me for causing "the mortgage meltdown". Wow..I had no idea I was so powerful. Good blog..as usual.
Melissa
It is great to have perception and insight... and a deeper understanding... or think we do sometimes : ) Thanks for your insight !
Melissa - There is much angst in our Country right now, we need to remember that. If you are the cause of all this, you better be living in a mansion William Randolph Hearst would envy;-)
Christopher and Stephanie - And thanks for stopping by to share in its brilliance uniqueness levity me being me.
"I want to leave whatever part of the world I affected... a better place" Haven't you done that already?
No, not yet.
Hey Jason, Sad to say that we can only undo what others have done one person at a time. Sucks how the media can demolish an entire industry with the same recirculated crud of "the sky is falling" in one fell swoop. But...we cannot fix it as fast. Good post.
Hi baby :)
Jason -- I've always liked the thought that when I die there'll be one more child to carry on. . . I'm convinced that we do make a diference - by the way each of us lives and by the things - stuff -- we fight for. Believe that I've influenced a few people positively -- believe you have too. Think there is much humanity in our fields - and frustrated by the media, and crap out there too. Am currently enjoying this -- hope you do too.
Sarah - I'm more than ready to do what needs to be done. I understand the angst, I don't blame them. We need to step up to the proverbial plate and take one for the home team.
Hi Sweetheart!
Alexsandra - I love how you spell your name by the way:-) A 'Killers' reference... WOW! I'm very impressed, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Very relevant, very damn good.
Jason - we are mere farmers, tilling different fields. the day workers have come and gone. the fruit remains on the vine. at season's end, the harvest will occur. we do not pick because hungry mouths wait. we pick because we are mere farmers. it is what we do.
Jason, as I have always said, talent exist in you. BTW, when I started reading this, I got a sense of Yoda.

Nights in White Satin has always been one of my favorite songs, but there are equally good Moody Blues songs out there, too. You should join the Inspired by Song group and post this over there.
My Partner's wise old grandmother often told him, "Know thine enemy for he is you."
You know - I love this. I think it's why you were the first person I subscribed to. We all have to remember that the game is played in the comfort zone for most - the real estate from the 20 yard line to the 20 yard line... but that is not where you will score any points. You have to get out of that comfort zone to score.
John - Poetically put J-Mac, poetically put.
Danny - Thankful I am of your compliments;-)
Jim - Me too. As far as joining the group, I'm buried up to my eyeballs in groups already. Couple that with me not being very active in most of the groups, I think I will stay put. Your Partner's Grandmother was certainly a wise soul.
Eleanor - It still resonates as a high honor that I was the first you subscribed too. That means a lot.
