The Easter weekend has passed.

When I did my daily MLS update I saw that activity over the weekend was minimal here in the Fredericksburg Virginia area.

Went to ActiveRain as part of my morning ritual and saw that postings yesterday were also minimal. Was hoping that this subject had not been already posted.

Many years ago, more than fifteen to get close, there was a story told that people bought real estate without regard to holidays. Guess that was to encourage people to take "desk duty" or sign up for "opportunity time" in offices that opted to be open on Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter. Being a skeptic, I never really underwrote those stories at all.

How much activity took place in your neck of this big woods?

I honestly can't figure out holiday real estate activity. I showed property on Friday and Saturday but my buyers were not buying this trip. Normally, I am not incredibly busy on holidays unless I have a house full of company and then someone will always call!

Here in Hilton Head, it is Heritage week (always follows the Masters) and our island is now inundated with golf enthusiasts. It's really difficult to ascertain whether these visitors translate into buyers. My opinion is that they are here for golf and only golf. Guess I'll post statistics after this month is over.

Easter week is used to be the hottest week in the Atlanta real estate market when Atlanta was a relo destination. Spring break up norht was the week following Easter. So the house hunting trips and preview trips started then. Not so this year. We received just a few calls over the weekend from those that had nothing else to do on Easter Sunday but to call Jim and Ellen.
