Dateline - San Dimas, California October 3, 2008

Today marked a new milestone in Southern California CRS history.  President Deborah Kniss and President Elect Marlene Bridges saw a need to prepare our members for the work that lies ahead for California REALTORS®. With the help of noted NAR, CAR speaker, and fellow Active Rainer C.J. Johnson of Silver Lining Productions, two classes were created:

REO 101 for the 21st Century

REO 102 for the 21st Century.

The classroom was packed to capacity when C.J. regaled over 100 attendees with her humor, wisdom, and cutting-edge, fresh-from-the-trenches information on professionally working the REO market.  We can't wait until October 24th when we get part two of the series.

This class was so well received, plans are already in the works to reprise it in early 2009.  Are you ready for the coming REO tsunami ahead?  Read the flyer below to see how Southern California CRS is helping agents to get prepared to professionally handle the market that lies ahead:

Marlene- Your Title says it all...I hope some lenders and loss mitigation people start taking some classes.  I think a cross blend of professionals would really serve everyone the best, but in the meantime I would have loved to attend your first class :)

Hi Kathy - It was a great class.  Maybe you can make it in January?  And, you are so right.  I hope everyone who is working in this arena will do their level best to get some good training and work together as professionals.

Hi Jeff - Glad you enjoyed the class.  Like you, I'm looking forward to the next session.  I believe we are about 1/2 sold at this point, so there's still room for a few more at this point.  Sure glad you made the extra effort to be there!

Hey Lynda - Yup we are truly living in Rock 'n Roll times!  Sure was great t have this class to gear up.

Education is key.  This comes from a guy who hated school... but I hope I've evolved a bit.  Never in our history has our expertise been more important, to do our part.  Good to read ya again, Marlene:-)

Hi Jason - Funny how the older we get, the more we crave the education we resisted in our youth!  Nice to hear from you Jason :)

Hello Marlene & All Who Attended REO 101:  WOW..WOW...WOW I never expected in my wildest dreams that we would have sold out and added 20 chairs to the back of the room.  Thanks to Deborah Kniss & Marlene Bridges and the Southern California Chapter of CRS for their timely attention to their current members requests for education on topics that effect our daily business and lives.  I am looking forward to our next installment REO 102 and future sessions of both workshops. I also want to thank all that attended and participated in the workshop.  Looking forward to working with you all again in the future...see you all on the 24th...C.J.

Hi William - It was great talking with you yesterday, too.  Yes, I think REO's are definitely a big part of our future.  We have two choices - stick our heads in the sand or gear up...let's gear up, buddy!

Hi C.J. - Yup the class exceeded our expectations as well.  Thanks for the great job.  We've been getting rave reviews!

Marlene,

Congratulations on your part in launching this class, and for your upcoming presidency.  The "doers" will shape the future of real estate, while those who sit, morose, on the sidelines will be washed away by this Tsunami.

Hi Mike,

I so agree.  We at SoCal CRS are looking for the right tools to get our members prepared to ride the wave rather than being swept away by it.

Hi Marlene,

We get the real thing (tsunami) here in Hawaii but fortunately not too often.  We're starting to get the other kind too.

Aloha,

Richard
