A new restaurant is coming to town. Game Stop will be locating in the building previously occupied by Hungry Howie's Pizza. Hungry Howie's downsized their operation relocating next door to a smaller store front.

Located on State Road #674, the new Sports Bar will have a full liquor license and offer a complete Lunch and Dinner menu in a family setting. Grand opening date has not been announced , however their opening is anticipated to coincide with the influx of our seasonal Sno-Birds.

Benderson Development has completed several new store fronts on the site that previously housed Wal-Mart's garden Center which became available when Wal Mart moved to their Super Center earlier this year.

Bells Department store remolded the vacated retail space and relocated to the larger, more up to date facility.

Benderson also readied an out parcel in the Strip Shopping Mall with hopes attracting a Family oriented Chain restaurant.

Big Lots Discount Department store recently opened in the old Publix store located in the Sunpoint Plaza. Publix built and relocated to their larger store front in the Kings Plaza boarding hwy # 301 and #674.

Hal, I used to hate shopping at Publix when I lived in FL because some of the older stores looked so junkie, now I like shopping at them because I hate Kroger. Publix was the only supermarket big enough to take on Kroger head to head. I think they (Publix) is winning...

Publix! Remember them well. Shoot, I remember shopping at 'the Winn-Dixie' for that matter! We just opened (Wednesday) our Super Wal-Mart. Haven't been there yet. Have to be in the mood. Love Big Lots.

Winn Dixie is still here in our area and doing a decent job. Publix gained on them over the years and our Super Wal-Mart opened and surly will take a lot of their business. Wal-Mart's prices are so much more favorable then Publix and Winn Dixie, however they don't have the selection and variety the other two offer.

Hey Bob,

Everyone wants more good eating places here in town. That growth has been slow because, until recently, our community was populated with mostly sno-birds. Those that remained all year were too few to support the establishments and carry them thru the summer months. That is changing now. Is it good or not so good? Tine will tell.
