With the high price of gas, notwithstanding the fact that it has come down over a dollar a gallon in the past couple of months (since all the Arizona tourists went home LOL), many people are trading in their land yachts for motor scooters, motorcycles, and bicycles.

The roadways should be safe for all people on all modes of transportation, especially with children back in school and getting too and from on their skates, skateboards, and bicycles.

Yes, we're all in a hurry and we all have work to do—places to go, things to do, people to see—but what is your life going to be like if, in your hurriedness (is that a word?), you are responsible for someone's death? Remember that in many states, even "accidental" deaths can be subject to prosecution for "involuntary manslaugher."

Slow down, look around, and pay attention.

And, if you slow down as you are driving around you could see some great for sale by owner opportunities out there.  Slowing down is a great way to improve or increase your business.

You make a great point Jim  I saw a guy come just inches from hitting a walking pedestrian yesterday.  Your right people really do need to slow down.  And that includes me.

One is going to start seeing more and more bikes, mopeds, motorcycles, and smaller vehicles around. I'm starting to see it here alright. ~ Newbie

Jim, As an avid biker, I am always on the lookout for other drivers as they do have a tendency not to see you. When I am in my car, I am always on the lookout for smaller vehicles. I like the post...

I wish our community had more bike-friendly roads.  I worry about them being hit by drivers, sometimes they are hard to see.

Good point.  I really have noticed an increase in motorcycles in my area.  My son wants one and I am scared to death about it.
