The other morning I was heading out to show a home in town.  On my drive I passed two women who were walking their King Charles Cavalier dogs.  I stopped my car, introduced myself and explained that I had just got a KCC five months ago.  I told the ladies that I was on my way to show a house but wanted to say "hello".  I gave them my card and said that I'd love to walk with them sometime.

Well today I was taken back when one of the ladies called to invite me to lunch with them (and the dogs).  She also mentioned that she has been considering a move and would love to see what I thought of her home, as she didn't have a Realtor.

Funny how things work out.

Be open to the possibilities because the possibilities are endless!

I can trace about 20% of my production over the last three years to people I've met while walking my dog Sundance. People are usually drawn to his 'mini-Lassie' looks, we get to know each other, and before you know it I've got a listing and Sundance has a trip to the pet store to pick out a reward!

Sara, I think that's great.  Every person we meet is an opportunity, way to go!

Maureen before you get the dog think about the pain and heartache that goes into caring for a dog. Is it worth the few leads you get from the daily torture you go through walking the thing? ; )

No really I have one too couldn't live without him way to go Sara.

Sara, wow, sometimes we are so in a hurry we don't stop to smell the flowers. You did, great going.

Eddy,

Thank you!  I agree with you that we just need to be open to all the business that is out there.

Candi,

I'm laughing right now....

First things first, I had been aware of a group of women in my area that have a KCC club.  I just didn't know who they were.  The dog I have is not very common and people who have a King Charles love to talk about them.  Plus, what was the worst thing that could happen??  They would look at me funny?  Ignor me?  Who cares!

YES, I stopped my car, rolled down my window and said...

"Hi, my name is Sara, I just got a King Charles Cavalier, his name is Joey.  I've been wanting to socialize him with other dogs.  Would you allow me to walk with you sometime?  Or, I would be happy to have you over to my house so the dogs could play in my yard."

I find it best just not to think too much about this stuff.  Just do what feels right.  I'm very friendly, it was in a nice neighborhood.  I look normal, so did the ladies with their dogs.

Candi, I'm sure that you can do something like this.  You seem very friendly.  I think that you just inspired my next post.  Keep an eye out!

Hugs...
