Poll questionOne of the ways I can best provide social media handyman services is by answering your questions. Let me invite you to take a quick poll that ask four of the questions I hear most often.

  • How can blogs help me market my business?
  • How can I use Facebook for marketing purposes?
  • What's the deal with Twitter?
  • What are the best social networks to use in building my social graph?

If these four don't represent your question, please submit it in a comment.

Answering these questions helps me help you. Thanks!

I think you've nailed all the right questions on the head.

I think being exposed to the different options and then finding what works best for you is probably the easiest approach to it all.

Well I get plenty of leads (and sales) via AR and my blogging, but not from social networking. Great connections there but that's it, so what makes sense in terms of lead generation? How and where?

Good question Paul.

Maybe one place to start would be tell agents what IYO the top 10 best social networks and media there are for real estate professionals, what each one does, and then should they decide to get involved what would you recommend the order of involvement should be.

These are great questions. I'll be looking for your insights on Facebook and Twitter because while I'm there, it only seems to be for fun or for education rather than to bring business so far.

A lot of AR people whom I respect are on Twitter, and even say that they have gotten listings or clients from Twitter. I am on Twitter, but I am not seeing how it can help my business. I actually get a lot of hits from LinkedIn, so I get that, but Twitter, not so much.

Use your blog to communicate to your market that you are the EXPERT in the community in regards to real estate and those interested in buying and selling will tend to move toward you for your knowledge.  Take advantage of localism and direct your blogs to the community rather than just real estate professionals -- make it a profitable day!

I am willing to read about it all.

I don't get twitter and I am not sure facebook earns me a dime.

Paul, I'm with Jeff & Mary on this one.  I understand Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, etc., but so far I've seen my business come from blogging, not from these other venues.  Any thoughts?

Paul--

After BlogWorld, I'm all about social media, but I'm not quite sure how to insert my business. I do talk about social media and marketing, but I'm not sure my contacts know I run a marketing/PR firm, as well as a blog on marketing. So I want to know how to take that relationship I'm building and turn it into a client relationship!

I think they all work together, as each offers value in their own way.
