Is this your neighborhood?

Has the current real estate market left your kids wondering what happened to your neighborhood?

Well, let's hope the new government bail out plan makes things better!!! ...if it doesn't, a less-intense sugar-buzz for our kids will be the least of our worries.

Mana, hopefully Halloween will go on as normal (passing by the problem child houses of course). Good cartoon!!

Wow...hopefully it won't be THAT bad.

Funny, yet sad, cartoon though.

Hi Mana,

Oh my goodness, what a visual! A real horrror in many ways. Let hope and work toward better times.

Oh my! That is certainly a scarey neighborhood!  I hope your kids can find a nice high-density place so they can haul in the candy!

Hey Mana,

Someone emailed me this a few days ago (also from SoCal) and I had a good chuckle. But actually up here in Silicon Valley, most homes are occupied so kids don't need to worry :)  Some truth to it, though!

Hadn't seen this before. You are right - it will make a difference at Halloween for the kiddies.

From what I am reading in parts of the country, there are many empty houses.  Less stops for the treats also.

There's no foreclosed homes on my street so brink your little munchkins to Hanapepe Hawaii this year.  Besides, with tourism down we need a few more good visitors :-)

Mana, what a funny cartoon but a reminder of how tough it is right now for many families that my heart goes out to.  It's such a scary time for many families.  Here's hoping that everyone no matter their situation can find some simple happiness and joy in celebrating the fun of Halloween.  My lights will be on, my husband and I will be dressed in our costumes and will be having fun with all the kids that come to our door. Happy Halloween!

Gary, I am sure it will. The children should be the last ones to feel the pressure of these times.

Lanette, I hope so too.

Lynda, Sometimes a cartoon, even though exaggerated, can tell many stories. We are all praying for better times.

KK, Fortunately our neighborhood has not been hit that hard, but the city closest to us has neighborhoods similar to the one in this cartoon.

Mike, You are welcome and have a happy Halloween.

Tom, Let's hope things shape up for all of us.

Larry, Well, let's hope not a lot of neighborhoods look like this.

Mary, Maybe it was the same chain of emails!!! We do have a couple of cities in our county that have been hit real hard.

Terri, I hope things get better. You have a happy Halloween as well.

Tony and Darcy, It is a horror cartoon, I agree, but in some towns it's the truth. Let's pray for better times.

Bob and Carolin, I hope not that much of a difference. Kids should be the last ones to suffer from the grown up mistakes.

Randy, Southern California is one of the hardest hit places. This year there will be less stop for treats.

Richard, I would love to, visiting Hawaii is one of my dreams.

Kelly, You are welcome. Thank you for commenting.

Ann Marie, Let's really hope so. BTW, can I come trick-or-treating at your house? :0)

I got this email today and thought it was a hoot!   WE HAVE TO make light of the current situation... not much else to do!
