Sarah Palin is coming to Greenville, North Carolina!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams

Greenville, North Carolina is alive with Sarah Palin!  She will be here TOMMOROW!

Last Thurday after the Vice Presidenial debate, it was officially announced that Sarah Palin was coming to Greenville.  One of my collegues sent an email Friday at 9:30 saying that the line to put your name on the list was an hour long.

It must have been luck!  I walked right up and didn't put my name on a list.  I got my tickets.  About 20 of us from the office are camping out tommorow about 1:00.  We want excellent seats.

I have decided to bring my six and four year old. Tuesday is Caroline's sixth birthday, so her sign is going to say "Mrs. Palin, I came to see you on my birthday."  Rachel Iris has made a beautiful sign that says, "I am too little for guns, but I love God and lipstick."

I will share with you Wednesday my pictures!

Whether you're for or against either party, when someone of Palin's stature comes to your town (especially one as small as Greenville), it's always worthwhile going.

When Bill Clinton came to my town of Apex, NC this spring, there was no way I was going to miss that. The lines were long, the house was packed and he gave a wonderful nearly hour long speech.

Again, it's not just about who you're rooting for. It's also about the experience.

But when Sarah Palin does come to your town, make sure you hide your caribou!!!

Craig:  Point well taken.  When I was a high school student, I went to go see Franklin Graham do his 1998 cross country thing.  It was not something that I really wanted to do in high school but we used it as an excuse to stay later in Greenville.

As an adult, I am glad I went.  I got to hear a great speaker and a great experience.  We do not hae an caribou but an ass load of deer!

An ass load?!!!

Will that fit in the trunk of my car?

Will I need a truck for an ass load?

I love the South!!!

I'm from NY and even after 6 years of living here, I'm still learning some of the local terminology!

But I love it all!

Craig:  Opps!  I didn't even notice that I wrote that. Responding on a blog while waiting for clients is never a good thing.  Especially, when it is six thirty and you have buyers coming in and a listing appointment yet!

And all you want to do is go home, put the kids to bed, and have a glass of wine. Just one glass not a Ass load.  You could also say shit load!

Unfortunately, I cuss like a sailor.  Trying to work on that.

BTW:  IF you live in the South and don't have a truck you just don't fit it!  How do you go mudding?  Honey, come spend a day with me and you will learn it all.  I am Southern like it is MY JOB :)

Katie,

I am happy that you where able to get tickets to see Gov. Palin.  I graduated from East Carolina and like the exposure it brought to the University.  However in my real estate office I try to steer clear of politics as we have both Democrats and Republicans.

I know it's bad, but I've been a McCain or Obama supporter based on just which client brought up the subject.

Jake, you are absolutly the worst kind of person/realtor I have ever heard of!  Even it you do that, I dont think you should ever admit it!  OUCH!

You lie to clients?  OUCH!!!!

I'm glad you dont work for me, I'd can you for that kind of behavior!

Jake: I choose to run my business on truths.  Not half lies.  Since I wrote this blog, I have not lost a client yet. When politics are discussed, I try to educate them on my stance.  After all we are self employed, and don't we all want lower taxes?!?

That is all I say and usually never have to throw Obamas or McCains name out there.

My job is to help them buy or sell a house.  I prove myself as an expert. That is usually all they care about.  Katie Evans know her job!

Ed: I just hope he is not lying to himself.

Please tell me that you are not Jake!

You know what I do try to stay out of politics and I usually just nod my head in agreement.  I do not lie! I have openly discussed politics with the clients I agree with. (Obama supporters)

I tried to respect your opinion Katie even though it is 180 degrees diffent than my own.  I am an Obama supporter! The first person running for office who has gotten me excited to vote.  However after having such a discussion with my broker/owner who also supports McCain I decided it's best to respect everyone's opinion.  No matter how much I disagree.

So Ed if you want to make personal false attacks I'd say backing Govenor Palin is right up your alley.

Jake, I have not made any personal false attacks, and I would disagree with you about the future vice president's comments also.

My granddad used to say, if it looks like a terd, smells like a terd, and taste like a terd.....guess what?  It's a terd!

By your own admission you are not truthful with your customers and clients.  Do you dispute that?

I say that if you support a candidate, and you have strong convictions about it.  SAY IT.....

If you respect your boss, maybe you should set down and let him (or her) explain to you why you are wrong?  Your parents could probably help with this too.

I will certainly add you to my personal prayer list, and ask God to help you to understand.

Happy Day...

My parents taught me to respect other people's opinions Ed.  I do not feel like getting into a dispute over politics will help sell a client's home or help them make an educated decision when buying a home.  If they have different political opinions so be it! There's no reason to make an enemy, especially when political opinions changer over time.  I voted for Bush the first time and after being lied to about a war I voted for change in 2004 and I will vote for change again in 2008!

I try to respect other people's opinions and I will even respect yours.  No matter how much I disagree.  However when people such as yourself wish to insult or belittle the opinions of others it turns me off.  If I wanted to indulge in political disrespect I would watch Bill O'Reily or Keith Oberman.  Perfect examples of both the right and the left devauling the civilized political debate of ideas in this country.

Ed, I go to church and worship the same God as you do, but please don't bring religion into a political debate.

Mr. Jake, you make a perfect point.  I understand that you are young and that you dont understand the history of our great country!  Our country was built on (one nation under God), our money clearly states (In God We Trust), our constitution guarantees our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I know you will disagree, but if you would open your ears and your eyes, you would see where your change is headed!  For years, the Democrats have been taking our God and our constitutional guarantees out of our lifes!  Even B. Hussien Obama as a senator has voted to remove your God and your rights.

You go ahead and vote for change, I pray that you dont get it!  We need anything but change!

BTW, if you refuse to discuss politics and relegion in public, they win!
Thats right, a silent voice is not a voice at all!!!!

Jake and Ed:  If they say when women fight, it is a cat fight.  What is it when men fight ;0 Thanks for keeping it lively!

Jake:  What is your opinion on Obama and ACORN????

ACORN  gosh ask the guy in Cleveland who registered to vote in Ohio 72 times... nuff said.

I'm a Democrat for McCain

I'll vote for the best candidate, who, in my opinion, will do the best job. I've been to fundraisers for both Dems and Reps'..

I hope the OHIO vote doesn't end up like the Florida vote in 2000

OH BTW, I am so sick of all the political ads.

She was just here in Indy last Friday.  I would have done ANYTHING to go see her, but I had to go to a training class.

Joe:  I am a registered democrat as well.  Sick of the ads?  They have pumped millions in North Carolina to wipe out Elizabeth Dole.  I will be so glad when the election is done!
