Finally, on Wednesday I am taking a much needed break from work.  My husband, son and I are heading to Fort Wayne, IN to visit my husband's family and my older twin brothers.  In preparing for our trip I have been reflecting on the last year or so and everything that has happened since last May.

Last May my husband's niece was getting married in Colorado Springs.  Most of his family was going to be in attendance which was pretty exciting for both of us because for quite a few of them we hadn't seen in quite a long time.  We were all set to go and then a bomb hit.Bomb

My broker for the company I worked with at the time received a call from the ADRE (Arizona Department of Real Estate)...our company was getting audited in a week...the same time I was supposed to be gone. Needless to say I was unable to attend the wedding and see the family....I had to work.

That was my very first state audit and I had no one to guide me through it.  I think I worked around the clock for that whole week...from home and the office.  I wasn't completely sure what to expect, but overall it went OK.

I am glad to say that I have no audits pending and so far everything is as it should be for me to leave on Wednesday.  Good night to all and I don't see you in the Rain the next couple of days I'll talk to you in Indiana....where I'm told it's been around 40 degrees.

I envy you so much you cannot imagine! I need a vacation soooo bad. It's been over 2 years since we've seen the beach. That's a year and a half too long.

You'll breeze through the audit. Not to worry.

Yup... when I think of much needed rest and relaxation, the first think that comes to mind is beautiful Fort Wayne, Indiana.   Right on the beautiful shores of... er..., well, right near downtown... uh... no.., in the heart of fabulous... um..., not far from... oh.

Well, have a good time anyway.  :-)

Liz - I won't be away too long...I'll be using my In Laws computer when I get there...I just won't be on for a couple of days.

Janna - I probably will write about it sometime in the future...but it was a little deep for this post so I kept it short.

James - That's true.

Larry - Happy Anniversary!

Karen - That's true...my In Laws house is really drafty...it's the same house my husband grew up in so it is at least 54 years old...I get cold when we visit in the summer.

Amy - That would have been cool...they could have walked in after I left.  Thanks

Rob & Jeannie - It has been more than 2 years for me...I hope you get one soon.

Norma - I will do just that.  Thanks.

Ellie- LOL...My husband always gets mad when we go on vacation and I'm always on the phone!

Richard - Always glad to help.  Hope you get away soon.

Donna - I'll still have Internet access...I just won't be on tonight and tomorrow.  Thanks

Alan - Yeah...it isn't exactly exciting, but seeing family rates up there too.  Thanks

Chris- Thanks...staycation...lol...I try that but it never works...someone always finds me

Oh, I hate audits! The company we were with before we started our own got notice of an impending audit. Everyone scurried around checking all the files, making sure everything was right. Then the audit was put off and later cancelled. At least everything was put right by then.

Leslie - lol...at least everything was taken care of...it was the same with our audit.  It seems a better way would be to make sure everything is done correctly the 1st time.

Oh Darling, I'm excited for you! I know what it is like to NEVER be able to get away. My husband and I did not even take our honeymoon for months after getting married, because business was just too busy. I hope you have a wonderful, restful time. We'll hold down the fort while you're gone. :-) GBU!!

Chastity, Keep warm and enjoy your vacation!!  Don't even think about home or work.  When I finally got away last year I didn't even call home, it was a very well needed vacation.

Beth- My husband and I have never taken a honeymoon and we've been married 10 years! I'm hoping someday we'll be able to go to Spain and that will be our honeymoon.  I won't be away too long...just until Thursday...I'll be blogging from Indiana...I just can't stay away too long.  GBU my friend!!

Carole - Wow...I can't even imagine not calling home.  M y sister and I are 3 years a part, but we have rarely went without speaking for a whole day...usually we are talking 3.4.5.6+ times a day...her husband always says when her phone rings it's always me and my husband says the same thing about her.  I also have to call my mom everyday or she worries and calls in the troops!  lol...

Chasitity,

I hope you have an extra special time! The weather should be great...a little colder than it is in Arizona...bring a jacket. They might still have fall colors for leaf-peeping. Oh, wait, you said it was around 40 degrees...that seems awfully cold for October. Oh well, what do I know...we're going to have our first snow of the season this weekend. Now, aren't cha glad you're not coming to Colorado Springs?

This photo was taken last October, and somewhere in the photo is our driveway. That's my husband plowing the drive. Halloween was cancelled last year.

Have a great time! Talk with you when you return.

Wow...that looks really cold!  It was actaully about 66 degrees when we landed yesterday...still quite a drop from what I used to.  I think it was like 54 degrees before we reached Fort Wayne around 10pm.  Thankfully it didn't look like that.
