TRIVIA QUESTION... NUMBER 2

Last week I posted a blog for fun that was a trivia question. It seems a lot of ActiveRain members like the idea of mental stimulation.. so here we go again, round 2.

IN WHAT YEAR DID THESE THINGS HAPPEN.....

1) Radio talk show host Larry King wed Julie alexander

2) Time Inc. & Warner Communications announce plans for a merger forming Time-Warner

3) Wayne Gretzky becomes the all time leading pnits scorer in the NHL

and lastly

4) Don Henley (of the Eagles) released his album "The Last Worthless Evening"...

Any thoughts.. WITHOUT LOOKING THESE UP ON THE INTERNET...

LET ME KNOW IF YOU LIKE THESE TRIVIA QUESTIONS. IF SO, I'LL TRY TO DO ONE A WEEK.

I love trivia. thanks for posting. It's just a stab. I say 1986.

1989? I'm going to look it up now.

Wayne Gretzky was the give away for me.

Valerie, help us out. Was it in the last 10 - 15 years? I use to like Wayne Gretzky but I can't remember when he used to play.

Valerie, I don't know why, but 1986 popped into my head while reading the questions. Now I have to google it.

Well, I was wrong.

Valerie - If it wasn't for the Wayne Gretzky question, I'd have to pass on even trying to guess the rest of your trivia questions.. I was a huge fan of his and I'm going to put myself out on a limb and say the year was 1989.

Valerie - Let's see... I'm going to guess 1995. Don't ask me why. I'm really bad at this, but I like guessing... :)

Oh, I'm happy I got here before the answer was revealed. My guess would be 1996...

Valerie, Wayne Gretzky is my favorite Hockey Player, in fact I have his Rockie Card. I think Anita is right about when he set the record, so I will go along with her on 1989.

Tanya... I'll give you a hint.. seems that for some reason I am hooked on the 1980's. The last trivia question's answer was 1985. So, this one is NOT that year. Does this help?

Bob C.. That was a very good guess, and I'm happy you made an attempt without cheating and googling for the answer firs.. I'm glad you did NOT give away the answer wehn you did check it out.

Valerie - Yes, I like trivia questions. I'm not very good at it, but I still think it's fun! :)

Ok, I am trying really hard to remember back how about 1986?

Debi.. Then maybe doing this on a regular basis might help all of us to stimulate our minds a little. Your trying is better than not trying at all, right Debi? My dad always said.. "You never know until you try." This can be applied to alot of things in life.

As promised, I mentioned I would give the answer later on this evening. I'm heading out the door, and wanted to let everyone know the answer. Couldn't see you waiting until after midnight.

To Anita, George, Jane and Donna... my hat is off to the three of you. You win the WTT (Weekly Tuesday Trivia) award. The year that all these events happened was in the year 1989.

I inquired if the members here on ActiveRain thought this would be a good idea to have on a weekly basis.. and most said "YES".. so stay tuned to next week, for the next exciting round.

As a hint... I will ***NOT**** choose a year in the 1980's.

I got in late for this one.... I was thinking 1989 and lo and behold ... that's it. But I only knew because of the Eagle's questions, the rest I wouldn't have a clue.

Debi.. Then stayed tuned next week (Tuesday) for the next Trivia question. This could really be fun. I wish I could partake, but I always know what the answer is. LOL.

April, this is a fresh response actually. Most knew the answer because of the *Wayne Gretzky* hint. You are the first for the Don Henley hint. I thought for sure this would have given it away more... but what do I know?
