A dose of trivia...

I was just reading a blog here in AR by Valerie Osterhoudt
.  I would like to say that she stole my idea for a trivia blog but she never knew that I had the idea. And of course I will not admit to stealing her idea since I have been thinking about it for a while. LOL

Anyway, I love trivia.  Several years ago I did some part time work for a guy who hosted trivia games at local bars and restaurants.  I did that for several years and when I wasn't hosting I would go somewhere and play.  2-4 nights of my life were taken up by trivia games in one form or another.  I guess that I was sort of an Alex Trebek wannabe.

So anyway here is one of my favorite all time trivia questions ...

Chuck Berry was one of the most influential rockers in history.  But he had only 1 Billboard #1 hit.

Name the song.

Good luck.  No using the Internet.  Take your best guess and post it here.

My Ding A Ling is correct....

But, Berry did top the R&B charts quite a few times.  Things were different back then.

Any other guesses?  By the way he had quite a few "Gold" records.  But only 1 Billboard #1 hit.

The answer is ........

"My Ding A Ling"

According to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:

"May 1, 1972: ‘The London Chuck Berry Sessions' is released. One side was recorded in a London studio on February 5th with members of the Faces, while the other comprised material from a concert in Lanchester two days earlier, including "My Ding-a-Ling." It became Berry's best-selling album, reaching #8 on the Billboard chart and earning gold-record status.

October 21, 1972: Chuck Berry's only #1 hit, the novelty song "My Ding-a-Ling," reaches the top of the charts. He'd originally recorded it as "My Tambourine" back in 1958."

Chuck Berry was a member of the first "class" inducted into the Rock Hall in 1986.

Thanks for playing!
