That city is Orland Park IL and it is listed as the 45th best city to live in according to Money Magazine's 2006 list that you can view here. Money Magazine uses many different demographics to create their annual list.
I have to agree since Orland Park is one of the most popular southwest suburbs that I work in. One of my brick and mortar offices is located in this bustling village.
I also have a web page created for Orland Park Real Estate and the surrounding towns which are also popular in the southwest Chicago suburb area. Of course, as Orland Park's popularity grows and gets publicized, the prices go up. The average price for single family in Orland Park in 2006 was $422,090. There is also a huge selection of condos and townhouses for sale in Orland Park.
What makes this village so popular? Although it isn't a brand new village, it was a large enough area to continue offering new construction. Compared to more established southwest suburbs, Orland Park offers a larger selection of new construction. But for those of you that love vintage, Orland Park also has some beautiful historic homes.
Orland Park offers a large business and commercial area so you can dine, shop and get entertained within the village. In fact, the village boasts restaurants that are also open in Chicago's downtown area. It is the only southwest suburb that has a Trader Joe's store. The newest and hippest stores and businesses choose Orland Park as one of their locations.
Orland Park also has one of the largest southwest suburban shopping malls which is neighbored by another huge strip mall featuring even more popular anchor stores. Movie theaters, transportation plus 3 train stations make this village sought after.
Add to that a great school system and beautiful parks and you'll agree this is a great place to live. If you're interested in relocating to Orland Park, Illinois just call Judy Orr at 708-536-8200.
Ah Judy,
That's the same list that puts Naperville in the Number 2 position!
