Anyone planning on attending NAR's  Mid Year meeting in DC next month? It would be awesome to meet some fellow Rainers at the conference.

Jay and I are planning on arriving May 12th... sometime that night and will be staying the whole week. I have some obligations on Monday and Thursday and other than beating around the trade show, visiting with some friends we have some free time.  It would cool to put together a meeting!!! We could meet at the trade show or somewhere else. What say you???

Anyone interested?

Monika, I had not thought about the NAR meeting in DC, but I will think about it now, who knows maybe I will be able to take a couple of days off and go.

Hey Monika - I'm not going this year - if I were though, I'd be right there with you guys!

If a DC gathering is anything like the Celebration gathering, you'll have a GREAT time!

Monika...

Now this is the way to get an Active Rain party happening. From here I would suggest that you contact people in that area via AR and invite them to a restaurant. Make solid reservations and confirm how many people will be joining you. Don't take maybe for an answer :)

And for goodness sakes don't call it a meeting.

Call it what it is. It's a chance for members to get together and socialize. Got liquor? LOL.

Great idea TLW...but I fear from the lack of response here that there is not much interest. Hopefully we'll be able to pull something off.

Monika...

There's almost 25,000 Members and this is just one post. If you really want this to happen you're going to have to pick up the ball and run with it. Like I said contact some of the Members who are in WA and suggest a get together. I received a contact message today inviting me to Michigan. That's what the folks on AR are doing. They are all reaching out to each other. Try it. What do you have to lose? :)

Not too many DC people here! Hopefully some of them will be interested. I know there is usually a big turn out at the conference...I'm sure there will some AR members there. Just need to connect with them.

Great Lanre. We'll probably know more as the time nears. It would be very nice to get to meet some Rainers.

Monika...

Lydia Heaton (Matt's wife) has opened a group to help all the members get these gatherings going. You may post this in her new group...

<Active Rain Gatherings> May I suggest that you tweak the title to better reflect your invitation for a gathering :)

Hi Monika,

I would do the email contact with people in the area..i wish I was closer and could meet you that week..but I mentioned to you I will be traveling myself and won't be anywhere near there..but I still want to party with ya!

I would treat it  like a brokers open ,send out like 30-40 emails and maybe 10 will show

Make Ann Cummings go..she can burn the midnight oil with you.

Unsure if I'm going to be there in a couple weeks, should now shortly.  Totally forgot how quickly the NAR mid-year conference was coming up.

Jay and Monika, I hope that I'll be out there too.  My schedule has been insane lately and it's basically dictated that all my trip decisions are last minute, fingers crossed.

Monica,

Sorry to pick up on this so late. My wife and I are definitely attending Thursday and Friday. There is a tech based conference on Thursday from 3:15 to 4:45 put together by Saul Kline that is featuring some pretty high level (aka rich) folks in the tech side of the business that we plan to attend.

We're pretty open after that and anytime Friday or Saturday.

We're driving down after rush hour Thursday morning (about 2 hours or so).

Fred...We're heading down this Saturday. I have a Rebac instructor recert all day on Monday and a committee meeting on Thursday (Professional standards) and then we leave for home on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.

Jim...Jay and I are staying in our motor home which will be different for us as we usually stay just right over the bridge.

I saw Alicia Hagner, Joann Fossland, Peli Myers, Saul Klein, Mike Barnett, and Jack Reilly. Saul, Mike & John are not ARers but run the Internet Crusade and are all old friends.
