Foreclosures in Cook County Illinois suspended.

Thomas Dart, the Sheriff of Cook County, Illinois, the county I live in, has suspended home foreclosures. Chicago is in Cook County. The reason he says is that he is having to evict renters whom have paid their rent, but the home owner has defaulted. He says it is not fair to take action against the renter since they are not in default.

Sheriff Dart is being held in contempt of court for suspending the foreclosures. He wants the banks to send out investigators to determine who owns the home and verify the people to be evicted are the people who are in default.

I say good for him.

Wonder if he'll get some national publicity for this? The banks must be hopping mad about it!

Michael: That is a pretty gutsy move on the part of the Sheriff in Cook County to choose not to evict renters who have paid their rent... only to see the owner of that home cause it to go into foreclosure. A gutsy move... he did the right thing. Congratulations to him for his Bravery.

I applaud this Sheriff!!! Maybe he should be running for president.
