1st Annual Volksmarch on Oct. 18th near Ft. Bragg

Ft. Bragg Sports & Fitness will host the 1st Annual 10K Volksmarch at Smith Lake on October 18. Registration will be held from 0900-1100. The entry fee is $5 and children under 12 and dogs are free. This event is open to the public.

Check on the link to get more information about a volksmarch. If you feel so inclined, there will also be a pet fair and a dog costume contest.

So what is behind the name Volksmarch? Would love to find out the history behind that, I think it would make a really great blog post. Congratulations to you on a very successful 1st year on Activerain and here is to a great 2009 for you as well. (21-2)
