I agree America should wake up but I think Democrats have tunnel vision. They think one way and I don't care if NOBama was to commit a major crime, on camera and confess, people still think he is the best candidate. It's strange to me because it's so obvious and I just don't get it.

Nobody cares.  There's an audio clip that somebody sent me from, of all things, the Howard Stern show, that shows that when they attribute McCain's position to Obama, Obama's supporters agree with them.

If Obama's "ties" to radicalism are material, and the passage of time does not dampen the significance and seriousness of the "crimes" of the men who Obama has chosen to associate with, and you are sincere about avoiding a double standard, aren't you opening the door to a comparison with McCain's decision to "marry" not only daughter, Cindy Lou, but her father, convicted felon and mobster Jim Hensley, as well?

Democrats Rally 'Round Biden In Denver, Jackson, Rendell, Sebelius ...

>"In an interview with CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric on Saturday, shown on Face The Nation, McCain addressed his inability to say last week how many houses he owns, something Democrats have been hammering as evidence he is out of touch with average Americans' own housing crises.“Well, first of all, let me say that I am grateful for the fact that I have a wonderful life. I spent some years without a kitchen table, without a chair, and I know what it's like to be blessed by the opportunities of this great nation,” McCain said.

“Cindy's father barely finished high school, went off and distinguished himself in World War II in a B-17, and he came back with practically nothing and realized the American dream. And I am proud and grateful for that. And I think he is a role model to many young Americans who serve in the military and come back and succeed.”

“So the fact is that we have homes and I'm grateful for it,” continued McCain."<

McCain was a naval officer, a son and grandson of 4 star US Navy Admirals. He chose to resign his officer's commission and go to work for, and be sponsored and primarily financed for initial political races, by the brother described in these articla images:       "Ruidoso Race Track Owners Tied to Arizona Gambling"

>"Ruidoso Race Track Owners Tied to Arizona Gambling
March 26, 1977
By Robert V. Beier

Former associated of Phoenix wheeler dealers and gambling interests once controlled Riudoso Downs race track and whiile in New Mexico they apparently kept their business operations to themselves.

Eugene V. Hensley and his brother James W. Hensley who purchased controlling stock of Riudoso Racing Assn in December 1952, once worked for and with Kemper Marley, Phoenix millionaire rancher and wholesale liquor dealer.

And When the Hensley brothers purchased control of the Lincoln County track, Phoenix gambler Clarence E. "Teak" Baldwin simultaneously bought one third of the race track stock-- something the Hensleys denied in a State Racing Commission hearing in May, 1953.

Marley, 70 was named recently in a police affadavit as the man who requested the contract killings of Arizona Republic reporter Don Bolles, slain in a bomb attack last June and Arizona Atty Gen Bruce Babbitt's

life. Marley has not been criminally charged.

An Investigative Reporters and Editors "IRE" report in it's Phoenix Project revealed Marley also ran an organized crime ???? wire service for bookies that was managed at one time by Baldwin who was convicted of income tax evasion in 1956.

The IRE investigation showed the Hensleys were associates of Marley and Baldwin in the 1930s, 1940s and early 1950s in Phoenix.

A search of commission records in Albuquerque by the Journal showed the racing body in the early 1950s was aware of the associations and leary of Mr. Baldwin connected with the Hensleys in their purchase and operation of the track.

At a May 1953 commission hearing in Albuquerque records show the Hensley brothers readily told of their connections with the Arizona wholesale liquor business and Marley in the 1930s and 1940s and the federal convictions in 1948 for making false entires on government records regarding ???? liquor sales.

However, the Henleys denied at the same hearing that Baldwin their old croney in Phoenix, had any stock interest in Ruidoso Downs.

But two years later, at another hearing records reflect Baldwin did have stock interest in the track....

...At the May, 1953 hearing, records show that the late Tom Closson, as chairman of the commission, told the Hensleys, "The name of Teak Baldwin keeps creeping up as we go along in what the commission conveyed to you. The commission would not have Baldwin connected in any way, shape or form down there at Riuduso Downs."

The Hensleys, records show told the commissioner Baldwin had no money in the track, known as Hollywood Race Track prior to 1953.

It was brought out in the May 1953 hearing that Baldwin had been charged in Phoenix of doctoring drinks of patrons at his restaurant and then fleecing them in gambling games, according to IRE.

Baldwin later was acquitted of grand theft charges. Eugene Hensley revealed it was Baldwin who steered him to look at Ruidoso Downs which he and his brother purchased from the late OM "Hop" Lee Sr., a member of the commission and some Texas proncipals in December, 1952.

Eugene Hensley told the commission Baldwin was allowed to run the ???? men's kitchen at the track and had spent some of his own money for equipment....

....As a result of reports concerning an alleged connection between the Hensleys and Baldwin, the commission in 1953 had the New Mexico State Police investigate the trio in Arizona.

The State Police investigation revealed Eugene Hensley had filed a suit against Baldwin in 1951 in an Arizona Court seeking $6,500 he allegedly had loaned to Baldwin. No disposition of the civil suit was mentioned in the records.

After his federal conviction and nine months in a Tucson federal prison camp Eugene Hensley told the commission he owned and operated a number of bars and cafes in Phoenix until he purchased the Ruidoso Downs track.

James Hensley sold out his interest in the track in April, 1955. He was secretary-treasurer of the Ruidoso Racing Assn at the time and record do not reflect any further connection with the track....

...

The 1953 State Police report in connection with it's Arizona investigation of the Hensleys and Baldwin noted Marley "owned a wire service formerly operated in connection with bookmaking of the Al Capone gang."

The same report listed Baldiwn as a "bookmaker for leading tracks" and said that Marley "is reputed to be the financial backer for bookies..."

The 1953 State Police report to the commission also included a transcript of a phone conversation between an officer in Sante Fe and a detective with the Phoenix Police Dpt. who said, "Our confidential files built upon Baldwin (and others) was loaned to some officials and never returned. We've never been able to locate them."....."<

Here's the Hensley's lifelong "acquaintance"...at the same time (early 1952) that their equal. 1/3 horse race track purchase partner who they hid from the New Mexico Racing Commission, in results of a Google News Search:

SO tell me, what is the difference between Obama's "association with William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright", and John McCain's complete commitment to a mob thug, his late father-in-law. At what point did Jim Hensley's money lose enough of it's organized crime stench to line McCain's pockets and primarily fund his first congressional and then senate campaign? You folks have made the rules....guilt by association, and once a "terrorist" or renegade cleric, always a... or are your rules different for McCain?

That previous comment from Ed just shows what Lanita was talking about when she said Democrats have tunnel vision. :) Personally the comparisons you made Ed were like Apples and Oranges. I'm sure McCain didn't marry Cindy for just money, that's ludicrous! He can't control who her family is either. Im sure it was beneficial that she's the heiress to Budweiser, but you can't fault McCain for that. As far as the houses that he own's is concerned, most of those were Cindy's and they keep their finances seperated, so why is it a big deal that he knows how many homes he owns??? I lose track of how many I own too. Even if he owns 7 or 8 homes, what's the big deal? How many did John Kerry own? More than that. I think your just trying to defend your candidate becuase of all the skeletons in his closet........

Thanks for the info John, I won't miss it, I watch Hannity almost every night. McCain Palin '08!!!

Josh and John Hersey...you're both "serious"....aren't you? Seriouly commited to a "double standard", and seriously in denial. AGAIN....the man was a US Naval officer....a position of honor and integrity...steeped in tradition, the tradition of his 4 star Admiral father, and 4 star Admiral grandfather, and McCain traded his officer's commission, to work for and be sposored by the mob thug I described and documented above.

He could have married the thug's daughter and stayed in the Navy, or resigned to pursue a career worthy of who he had been and what he had endured and accomplished while in the US Navy....but you ignore his choice, and focus on Obama's transgressions....and you criticize me for pointing this all out to you. Nice !!!

"....McCain truly was at a turning point in his life and ready for a new challenge.

He had a new wife. He retired from the Navy in 1981. His father, Adm. Jack McCain, died on March 22, 1981.

Politics occupied his mind.

According to Timberg's book, McCain actually had toyed with the idea of seeking a House seat as far back as 1976, when he was still living in Florida, but determined he probably couldn't win. After his Senate liaison duty, it became an obsession.

Cindy's money came from her family business. Her father, Jim Hensley, owned a Phoenix Anheuser-Busch distributorship that had made him a multimillionaire. He gave his new son-in-law a job as vice president of public relations, but, really, McCain was just biding his time until the right political opportunity came up.

"Jim Hensley didn't care about PR," said Bill Shover, a former executive with The Arizona Republic who met McCain in 1981. "When you have the Budweiser franchise, you . . . don't need PR."

McCain himself acknowledges that he "fit the bill" of the stereotypical "upwardly mobile boss' son-in-law who obviously lacks the experience and training typically required for the job he holds." But he didn't want to let Hensley down, either.

On the political front, McCain reached out to his Capitol Hill mentors and friends for guidance. Cohen put him in touch with veteran political consultant Jay Smith, who advised McCain to discreetly get out and start meeting Arizona VIPs.

His job with Hensley allowed him to do that....."

Denial is not just a river in Egypt, gentlemen. McCain and his supporters are not standing on any higher moral ground than Obama and his supporters are. Both sides are eager to put one of these sell-outs into the white house.

Ed- I think we do agree with each other on one thing, I think they are both sell-outs too. They both stand for things that I don't agree with or would want in the leader of the free world. But if you put the two candidates side by side, Im looking at the lessor of the two evils, which is McCain. Check out my recent blogs Ed to get some inside info on Obama.
