Pumpkin Festival

There are many generous sponsors for the Annual Great Pumpkin Festival . They truly are community angels

Though we may be living in challenging times, it is the sense of Community that makes a difference in our lives and will help each of us find a way to embrace and enjoy the beauty of the season and find strength in coming together to celebrate autumn with our neighbors from Amherst, Mont Vernon, Nashua, Brookline, Hollis and surrounding towns.

Hi Joan...trying to catch up on my posting! So many towns are doing the pumpkin festivals now it's really fun!

That list of events is very impressive. Have you ever considered approaching the Chamber of Commerce about doing some Marketing for them?

Concord is doing the Halloween Howl which I'll be posting about. They are also having a scarecrow display!

Hi Joan  I think New Hampshire has so many wonderful autumn festivals.  It is very difficult to decide which ones to attend.  Regarding the Chamber -- they have their own marketing person on board -- I don't think they have a blog, but they send out announcements every week on what chamber events are going on!  Have fun!

James ~  I didn't remember that you grew up in Boston -- I bet you don't miss all that snow we got in MA and NH last year (lol)!  It is beautiful this time of year and so far we have had a picture perfect weekend!

Hello Joan,
Were you able to attend?  Sounds like lots of fun, I've not been to a talent show in many years but it is always amazing to see the "local talent".

Teri~  We lucked out and had great weather.  Almost 70 degrees.  It did get chilly in the evening.  The largest pumpkin weighed over 1000 lbs.  That's a lot of pumpkin.  Hope you are doing well in sunny Arizona.

Cynthia  ~  It was a great event - I didn't get to the talent show (darn!).  I will have to ask one of my friends how that went.  The rest of the weekend was glorious.  thanks for commenting.

Joan~

You wrote "Though we may be living in challenging times, it is the sense of Community that makes a difference in our lives..." This resonates with me...Possibly that very sense of community is one of  the blessings in disguise (??)

janeAnne ~  This event brings together families from all over the State of New Hampshire.  The wonderful thing is that this event brings out the best in everyone.  The community really comes together to celebrate the beauty of the season!  It truly is a blessing in disguise when you see all of the divisiveness in the world!

Joan - From what I read here it sounded like a lot of fun for everyone. I think fall in your neck of the woods is just as beautiful as our spring in Florida. You posted a lot of detail with great information. Actually, Milford reminded me of the show "Gilmore Girls".

Petra~  It is nice to get to know you on Active Rain and I really liked your recent post.  It is lovely here in the fall and I have enjoyed spring in Florida.  We are lucky to be able to enjoy the beauty of the seasons!
