With the holiday season right around the corner I am starting to panic thinking about all of the sweets that accompy it.  SO I thought I would post some Eating Healthy recipes.

Homestyle Biscuits:

2 C. Flour

2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

2 Tbsp sugar

2/3 C. 1% fat buttermilk

3 1/3 Tbsp. Veg oil

Preheat oven to 450*F

In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar.

In a small bowl, stir together buttermilk and oil.  Pour over flour mixture and stir until well mixed.

On a lightly floured surface knead dough for about 10-12 strokes.  Roll or pat dough to 3/4" thick.  Cut with 2" biscuit or cookie cutter, dipping cutter in flour between cuts.  Transfer to ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 12 mins or until golden brown.  Serve warm.

There is about 3g of fat per biscuit.

Enjoy!
