Toledo, Ohio

Wow!  It didn't really hit me till I was home.  But this morning was my last opportunity to sit with my brokers (John and Kathy) and a group of agents and just shoot the breeze and brainstorm.  To have a free exchange of ideas, frustrations, random thoughts and anxieties.  All in a comfortable venue and without shame or embarrassment.  To just let our hair down and get whatever is getting to us off our chests.

John Mangas and Kathy Kuyoth, Broker Owners/Partners, REMAX Preferred, hosted a cozy breakfast meeting for all of us to discuss what is and is not working in this market, what might work in this market and how we should be using our time to perfect our business.  This was the third breakfast they have had this month, keeping the group small, so that we could chat and learn from each other.  That's one thing John and Kathy have always been tremendous at ... keeping us all motivated to succeed.  They are truly caring people and it shows ... in everything they do.

Soon I will be joining the Elizabeth Nieves Realty Group at Keller Williams in North Carolina.  This is an exciting move for me and I'm up for the challenge.  The idea of working with Elizabeth just makes me want to jump and shout!  She's a go-getter and a real inspiration!

But I have to admit - while I won't miss the snow and freezing cold that prevails in Ohio during the winter, I will certainly miss all of the fine folks I am proud to call friends.

I learned something a long time ago ... if you have made real friends it won't matter where you are living.  The miles won't count - but the friendship does.  Friends are friends - no matter what dot on the map they call home.

Thank you, John and Kathy, for the opportunities you afforded me, the knowledge you shared with me, the hand of friendship that you offered me, and the trust that you placed in me.  Though my stay at REMAX Preferred was brief (just a year) I learned many wonderful things and got to meet many great folks.  Your team is top-notch and your professionalism unparallelled.

I wish you all the best - always.  God bless to all.

Carol - I understand. In a weird way, pain upon leaving is really a good thing. If you are too joyful as you walk out a door, you have to ask yourself...why did I wait so long?

Now, heading to one of the finest brokers in the country and heading to work with one of the classiest agents in the Carolinas...now that is priceless.

Shirley - Sho 'nuff!  Thank you!

Jackie - Thank you.  I plan on making many new memories.  Life is meant to be an adventure and I'm taking advantage of it.

John - You're right.  But I'm not really sure it's pain ---- more like sadness.  And yes - Elizabeth is one of the classiest ladies I know.  She really has it all together.

Oh Darling, you KNOW that I can't wait to have you here with me...but I also know that it is not easy leaving good friends behind. What you said is sooooooooooo true...when you make REAL FRIENDS...they are only a heartbeat away. (ESPECIALLY in our age of technology!) I'm happy for YOU (AND ME)...and I am absolutely certain that this move is exactly what you need. I LUV YA!! GBU!

AND JOHN...Thank YOU for those sweet words! :-)

Cheryl - Miles are only dots on a map.  True friendships withstand those dots with no problem.

Eli - True - it's not easy to leave good friends, but sometimes we have to follow our dreams.  Life is too short to not chase those rainbows.  And I'm happy for US!  We are gonna be doing some serious business.  My head has been in a spin since July and my notebook is filling up fast.  :::Somewhere in the distance I keep hearing the lyrics to You Lift Me Up:::  GBU, sis!  I'll be there in 10 days - at least for a week!  LOL

Carol, I'm sure you will be back to visit and you can go in warmer weather!  It's supposed to be a frigid winter.  I think you'll love working with Elizabeth and meeting new people and making new friends to add to the ones we already have is wonderful.  You know I wish you the absolute BEST---and I have no doubt you'll get it!

Carol:  One thing that struck me when I looked closely at the photo of your fellow agents at the table:  the looks in their eyes and on their faces... and their overall body language.  My heart goes out to all of them... which is not to say that I am in any better position than any of them.  It is easy to "talk" about the current market, or actually... about the lack of it... but when we see a bunch of human faces with that news... it gets even more scary.  Have a safe trip... I just know you will do well.  And... don't forget... label the boxes... label the boxes... LOL.

Carol-

I'm sorry I never had the chance to work with you, you seem like a wonderful person.  I actually just talked to Kathy today about meeting the team at a luncheon in the near future.  Anyway, I wish you nothing but the best and may you always be happy & healthy!  Good Luck!

Carole - I am going to enjoy every minute working with Elizabeth.  She is truly a precious soul.  I hope you get the opportunity to meet her someday.  Don't know about making all new friends though ---- you know I'm awfully shy.....teeheeheeheeheeheeheehee

Danny - You're right on there!  Life is meant to be an adventure, not a weight on our shoulders.  And I'm always up for an adventure!

Karen Anne - I am labeling the boxes!  Thoroughly!  LOL  And I'm reserving a space for you and Mollie - so you can come visit and let me woo you away from Texas!  ;)

Joni - The truck gets loaded on the 31st.  And you're right ---- I am psyched!

Joshua - Thank you.  I appreciate your well wishes.

Carol~What an amazing opportunity to be working with one of our very best in the industry and in life.  I absolutely love Elizabeth with all my heart and although we haven't met in person, as you said "it doesn't matter what dot on the map they call home", the heart proves to make us closer than physical existence itself.  You are a wonderful lady and I look forward to reading up on your blog even more.  I pray for you many wonderful blessings in your life.

Julie - Yes - you and I (and many many others) share that opinion of Elizabeth.  Her enthusiasm and zest for life are contagious in the most extraordinary way.  I'll say a prayer that one day you can travel to NC and have lunch with us!  Wouldn't that be incredible?!

Renee - Yep!  Moving to North Carolia.  And so very happy to be doing it!  Once the move is over and I get back to filling the blog rolls daily you will quickly associate me with The Heartland in NC.  LOL  Thanks for finding me - now you just have to keep up!  LOL   Hope all is well.

Cynthia - Yes, it's hard, but now they all know they have another place to visit on vacation!  LOL  And, yes, I'm a yankee, but if you get between me and a biscuit with a bowl of grits, somebody's gonna get hurt!  LOL

Rich - Thanks!  And, no, John isn't sleeping.  By his own admission he's ADD and he checks his phone/palm constantly.  But he's one of the all time good guys.  I'll give him that much.

Hi Carol,

Cynthia - My stomach has been on strike for about 2 weeks now.  It keeps telling me it wants some good ol' country cooking!  :)  My husband has no idea just how much his "menu" is about to change.  Thank heaven he's not a fussy eater!  After 23 years in Florida (rural Florida) I became much better at cooking 'southern style' than anything else.

Still won't clean fish though.  I'll catch them and cook them, but someone else is going to do the dirty work!
